In alphabetical order: Bush, Carson, Christie, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio, and Trump. No Fiorina, and she is upset about that. Debate tomorrow at 8 PM Eastern on ABC.

Let me be honest: I am sympathetic to Carly Fiorina’s argument that she should be on that stage if some of those other people are.  But if I was running the debate it’d be just be Carson, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio, and Trump on that stage anyway. And Ben Carson and John Kasich would there as courtesies to their current poll standing. Very possibly half the people on that debate stage tomorrow aren’t going to be on the next one, and that’s fine.

No, really.  Let’s not forget what the debates are for.  They’re for giving the electorate an idea of how the various candidates think and react to things, and at this point we here in the electorate are pretty much starting to have a good idea of where everybody stands. At some point we have to start paring it down.

Sorry.

PS: This post is not an invitation for people to unload on Republican candidates and/or their supporters (and don’t try to be cute about it, either). I am not joking. This Means YOU.
