So if I were Joe Biden — shudder the thought — these days, I wouldn't want to get out of bed in the morning. Not that Sleepy Joe necessarily ever wants to get out of bed, but, man, he continues to take fire from all sides in the aftermath of the release of the explosive Hur Report.
In one recent example, as my colleague Ben Kew reported on Sunday, liberal thought leader Ezra Klein, the co-founder of Vox and now a columnist and podcast host at The New York Times, demanded that Biden drop out of race, saying he understood that many liberals would be angry at him for calling on Biden to step aside. But Klein said what we all know — including Democrats — about this president's cognitive state: "He speaks gibberish."
But for race-baiting Biden, the worst was still to come.
Radio icon Charlamagne tha God appeared on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday and called the besieged president an "uninspiring candidate," adding that there's zero that makes people "want to listen to him."
Host Jonathan Karl asked Charlamagne why Biden's incessant messaging (lies) about Donald Trump being a threat to democracy isn't working.
He's just an uninspiring candidate, like, you know, there's nothing about Joe Biden that makes you want to listen to him. He should be leaning on people who are more inspiring than him, who are more charismatic than him.
And he should just be, I guess if you want to call it the brains of the operation behind the scenes. Like, that sounds crazy that we're saying that about a president of the United States of America, but he has no main character energy at all.
Ouch. Although I'd change part of the last line to simply read: "... he has no character at all" to be less ambiguous.
Charlamagne argued that Biden's age isn't the problem; it's Biden himself.
Donald Trump is, what, four years, three years younger than President Biden. But he just comes off a lot more youthful. He comes off, you know, like he has a lot more energy. And I always say this about him. Donald Trump seems more sincere about his lies than Joe Biden does about his truth.
When Karl asked Chalamagne if Vice President Kamala Harris has met his expectations, the radio host went bottom line:
No, she hasn't. But, I don't think it's too late for her to pivot. You know, I think that right now, historically, vice presidents have always kind of played their role. Their role is to just basically parrot the president, you know, speak on behalf of the president.
She serves a unique purpose, right? Because she is the first woman of color in that position. So there is [sic] things that she could talk about, things that she could say that he can't.
OK, not exactly a ringing endorsement of Harris, so who does Charlamagne think would be best suited for the Democrat nomination if Biden bows out or is kicked to the curb during the Democrat National Convention in August?
California Gov. Gavin Newsom or Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.
In other words, the Democrats have no viable Plan B — at least not yet — while Joe Biden continues to stumble and mumble his way toward November.
