In the last week of November, one San Diego migrant center took in roughly 1,500 illegal aliens in a single day — the largest one-day total since the Biden Border Crisis began. According to city officials, more than 45,000 illegals have been dropped off in the city and its suburbs since September 13.
Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas were unavailable for comment.
In October, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors authorized $3 million in emergency funding so local nonprofit groups can provide shelter to illegals — which will only provide services for up to three months. On Tuesday, the board will vote to double the amount. Clearly, something has to change.
That "change" is the board asking the federal government for millions of dollars in emergency funding (taxpayer dollars) to fund the illegals who continue to establish makeshift camps.
Supervisor Jim Desmond, who opposed both the $3 million in funding and also opposes additional funding, said San Diego County taxpayers should not be forced to fund the ever-growing number of illegals flooding the county and that the federal government should fund the crisis. He posted on X:
My colleagues have brought forth an item for Tuesday's board meeting to allocate another $3 million for migrant services. If approved, we will have spent $6 million of local taxpayer dollars on migrant services.
I'm against this for several reasons, primarily because immigration is a Federal issue, and San Diegans should not be footing the bill. We have seen nearly 50,000 migrants enter San Diego County since September 13 and there are no signs of this slowing down.
Our immigration system is broken and San Diegans shouldn't have to sacrifice local services because of this breakdown.
Desmond has a point — to the extent that Biden caused the border crisis, not San Diego County.

Correct. However, the border crisis isn't the fault of U.S. taxpayers, either.
Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Supervisors Terra Lawson-Remer stated the obvious:
We really have an extraordinary failure of leadership in Washington, particularly in the House.
However, she added this:
It would be an abdication of our leadership as local elected officials to be waiting around for Washington to act. I am not waiting for Washington. I say we do the right thing here because it is the right thing to do.
So there we have it.
The Bottom Line
This is yet another example of the day-to-day, on-the-ground reality of the continuing travesty of Joe Biden's out-of-control open border policy.
And just to think: all because the Democrat Party believes it's importing future Democrat voters.
