A Colorado man who in August pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of “parading” inside the Capitol during the January 6 “insurrection” begged a federal judge for leniency, declaring himself “an idiot,” new court filings show, and repeatedly apologized to America for his participation in the day’s events.

Colorado Springs resident Glen Wes Lee Croy, 46, wrote in the letter to the federal judge in his case, as reported by WUSA in Denver:

I am guilty of being an idiot and walking into that building, and again apologize to America and everyone for my role in participating.

Croy apologized in a number of sentencing filing documents, according to WUSA.

In his apology letter to the judge, Croy said he became increasingly frustrated by the non-stop news of the George Floyd riots and COVID mandates and fell into “rabbit holes” online, according to WUSA.

After Donald Trump announced the Jan. 6 rally, Croy, who was unemployed, said he used some of the stimulus money he had saved up to travel to Washington, D.C., to show his support for Trump. After arriving in the capital, Croy said he followed the pro-Trump crowd around and eventually into the Capitol building as the festivities kicked into high gear. The “caught up in the moment” defense?

Croy described himself as a “lemming,” as transcribed by WUSA.

I regretfully once again followed the crowd like a lemming. My adrenaline was up and I knew I wasn’t supposed to be there but I was in the thick of it by this point.

As filed by the Justice Department, Croy was charged with:

Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building; Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building; Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building; Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building.

Croy pleaded guilty to count 4 (“parading”) and is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 5. Prosecutors are requesting two months of jail time, describing Croy’s actions in court documents a bit differently than he did.

He showed no concern for the severity of his actions as he engaged in criminal conduct as if he was on a vacation. He [also] bragged about and defended his actions to several friends, failing to see the seriousness of his actions.

Interesting. “Lemming,” or eager participant who bragged about and defended his actions? I don’t know. I don’t have a dog in the fight, nor do I know the truth about the actions and motivations of Mr. Glen Wes Lee Croy of Colorado Springs inside the U.S. Capitol or afterward.

But I do know the Democrat Party and liberal media lapdogs continue to milk the hell out of January 6.
