Let’s get this out of the way first. Donald Trump lives rent-free in MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough’s head — 24x7x365. Trump also lives rent-free in the head of Joe’s wife and co-host, Mika Brzezinski, but that’s another story for another time.
As reported by Twitchy on Friday under the headline ‘Joe is lying again’: Joe Scarborough shares DEBUNKED Amy Coney Barrett clip discussing filling vacancies in an election year, Scarborough aired an edited clip the Left is using to “prove” Judge Amy Coney Barrett opposed Merrick Garland’s nomination by Barack Obama to the Supreme Court in 2016 because it would “flip the balance of the court.”
In a since-deleted tweet, Scarborough claimed:

How can I put this, delicately? Scarborough was lying. Or maybe he “forgot.” Or perhaps he was merely “misinformed.”
CBS News posted the excerpt from the February 2016 interview with Barrett shared by Scarborough, in which it attempted to spin the judge as “cautioning” a president on replacing a justice in an election year with “someone who could dramatically flip the balance of power on the court.”
Amy Coney Barrett, one of Trump’s frontrunners for replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg, spoke with CBSN in February 2016 after Antonin Scalia’s death.

Shocker: #ACB did NOT, in fact, “caution” against replacing Scalia in an election year. She defaulted to the Constitution. “POTUS has the power to nominate and the Senate has the power to act or not.”
Bad-faith framing with the stink of suppressive intent. #FakeNews https://t.co/iGZpuZIjz0 pic.twitter.com/89TmcZNHDZ— Jorge Bonilla (@BonillaJL) September 23, 2020
“No, Amy Coney Barrett didn’t say it would be inappropriate to fill a SCOTUS vacancy in an election year,” said Aaron Blake, senior political reporter, writing for The Fix at The Washington Post.

That’s correct. Even the Washington Post — where Scarborough writes a column — debunked CBS’s edited video. In a Thursday article titled What Amy Coney Barrett actually said about election-year Supreme Court vacancies, WaPo declared: “No, she didn’t say it would be inappropriate to fill the kind of seat she might soon to nominated to.”
Nice try, Joe.
Then again, Joe Scarborough ain’t got nothin’ on HBO’s Bill Maher. As I reported in my earlier piece titled Let the Hate Begin: Bill Maher Attacks Reported SCOTUS Pick, ‘F***ing Nut’ Amy Coney Barrett; Christian Mother of 7, Maher called Barrett a — yeah — “f**king nut.”
Haters gonna hate, folks.
And before this one is over, the confirmation hearings for Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh will seem like child’s play.
