Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk: Trump Can 'Guarantee' a Win by Doing Just One Thing

Depending on one’s predisposed political bias, Donald Trump is either going to suffer one of the worst Electoral College defeats in history, or crush Joe Biden like the mentally-diminished old Democrat he is.

While Fox News contributor and Conservative PAC Turning Point USA  founder Charlie Kirk is neither, he leans heavily toward the latter. That is, as he sees it, if Trump can recapture some of the magic in the bottle he enjoyed in 2016 when he dared America to “dream” again.

During a Saturday appearance on “Justice with Judge Jeanine,” Kirk said America is down right now — principally due to the relentless efforts of the liberal media and the activist wing of the Democrat Party, along with the continuing impact of the Wuhan virus pandemic.

I think that America right now, because of the propaganda media and the activist wing of the Democrat Party, America feels a little bit down right now, and the president is one of the most positive political figures that has ever come across the American political scene.

And what he did in 2016 so brilliantly, is he really tempted Americans to dream. He said, ‘yes we can bring jobs back,’ ‘yes, we can build the wall,’ ‘yes, you are gonna get so sick of winning you’re gonna say I can’t take it anymore.’

Kirk told host Jeanine Pirro he believes Trump “needs to lean into that even more,” saying Americans “want their lives” back and that some are unfairly blaming the President for their frustration over the virus.

Kirk, in effect, said Trump is a victim of circumstances.

The American people right now on Independence Day weekend, they want their lives back. And so they are a lot of voters right now are frustrated and they’re wrongly placing some of that frustration, I believe, on the president of the United States. It’s just there’s a lot of reasons for it.

To Kirk’s point, if Trump’s Friday night speech at the foot of Mount Rushmore is any indication, they’re on the same page.

As we reported yesterday, Trump’s speech was reminiscent of his 2016 barnburners that lit a fire in Middle America that not even campaigner-extraordinaire Hillary Clinton could extinguish. (See: “sarcasm.”)

Kirk told Pirro that Trump’s enthusiastic embrace of the joint SpaceX-NASA launch of U.S. astronauts into space last month gave America a much-needed boost of optimism and positivity.

I think what the president should continue to do is embrace the spirit that we saw on that rocket launch, where we went to space for the first time in nearly a decade — contrasting with the violence, the anarchy in the streets. The president is the best offensive player that we have ever seen in American politics when he sets the agenda. People follow brilliantly, by the way.

And so that kind of big and bold, frontier-minded spirit — talking to America as a country of pioneers again. I can tell you from the thousands of people that I communicate with week-to-week, and the hundreds of thousands of messages that we get every single month, Americans right now — they are yearning for that renewal of optimism and positivity.

Kirk is spot-on, of course.

Nearly 60 years ago, another American president dared America to dream, declaring, “this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth.” “We choose to go to the moon,” he said, “not because it is easy, but because it is hard.”

John Kennedy was right in 1960, and Donald Trump was right in 2016.

Twenty-six-year-old Kirk is one of the most effective young articulators of conservatism in America, today. He is not only a staunch supporter and fearless defender of all things Trump; he relishes going eyeball-to-eyeball with Trump haters — and he never loses his cool.

Again, Charlie Kirk is right. That said, here’s the bottom line.

It’s time for Trump to shelve the tweet storms, set aside the name-calling, his obsession with CNN, “Morning Joe,” and other goings-on in the TDS-riddled liberal media, step away from the fire, and allow Joe Biden and the Democrat Party to continue to self-immolate.

Why so, you ask? Isn’t that how Trump won in 2016, you counter?

Because the crowd Trump wowed in 2016 is already going to vote for him. They’re still in the bag. As he famously said in 2016, he could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue, and they’d still support him. Exclusively preaching to the loyal choir doesn’t gain a single vote.

Trump’s primary focus — and there still is time — should be on Independents, many of whom are sick to death of politics right now.

With a positive message, that is. Just like 26-year-old Charlie Kirk said.
