House Speaker [mc_name name=’Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B000589′ ] has no problem letting Obama have everything he wants, as long as the government doesn’t shut down.  His “two step plan” is to first erect a billboard at the border on Obama’s road to amnesty.  It will say “Stop.  You can’t do this.”  All the while the Obama convoy of undocumented aliens will continue to flow, knowing that their permiso will allow them to stay, work, and possibly vote*.

The largely symbolic bill, introduced by [mc_name name=’Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’Y000065′ ] (R-Fla.), would state that the executive branch doesn’t have the authority to delay deportations of undocumented immigrants. The Yoho bill will likely come to floor Thursday, aides said.

Second, Boehner will allow a vote on “CRomnibus”, a monster combining an omnibus funding bill to fund the government through September 2015 with a continuing resolution for funding immigration-related agencies until the new Congress convenes.  This is a stupid game of kicking the can down the road, hoping that a GOP Senate will deal with the issue next year.

It won’t matter by then, because Congress will have traded its most powerful weapon right now, the power of the purse, for magic beans from the White House.  The  complete blindness to their constituents by the House leadership on Obama’s illegal immigration actions is stunning.  They are letting the president dictate laws and in fact encouraging him to consolidate more power to himself without so much as a whimper.
