Yet Another Reason to Vote No on California's Prop 50

California voters consistently vote for the statewide Republican candidate 40 percent of the time during elections. That 40 percent does not include every registered Republican voter. For example, during the 2021 recall election of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), nearly five million Californians voted to recall him. In the state, there are nearly six million registered Republican voters. It makes winning a statewide race that much more difficult as a conservative if not all Republicans vote in state and local elections.

In November, California voters will decide whether to approve or reject Newsom's and the Democrats' legislature's plan to redistrict counties, which would ultimately eliminate any Republican representation in the legislature, as well as in Congress, even more so than now.

There have been dueling advertisements for and against Prop 50 here in California, but now the YES on 50 supporters will get some help from none other than George Soros. He will be donating $10 million to the YES on 50 campaign to flood the airwaves with advertisements.

From Politico:

"The donation from Soros, first reported by the New York Times, is the single largest for Proposition 50 to date. Labor unions, a national Democratic PAC, and wealthy liberals have together contributed well more than $30 million as Newsom and allies rush to persuade voters to approve new House maps that could force out a half-dozen Republicans while shoring up Democratic incumbents."

Soros also donated to Newsom's recall campaign in 2021.

California gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton is now warning California voters about the influence Soros will have in the state.

Democrats have had a supermajority in California for over a decade now and the results of their "leadership" and policies are clear: Highest gas prices in the nation, the highest state income tax, the highest gas tax, one of the highest housing costs, one of the highest electricity costs, and the highest unemployment rate, all while the state remains in a budget deficit, as they will now attempt to have a mileage tax on drivers, for newly purchased vehicles.

If they were delivering results and their policies helped everyday Californians, similar to what Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and the Florida legislature have accomplished in their state, then people would willingly move to California, open up businesses in the state, and there would not have been an exodus. But that is not reality, as millions of Californians struggle with the rising costs and work twice as hard, and at times two jobs, just to put food on their families' tables.

The supermajority in California has failed session after session and doesn't have a plan to change course. So why should they be rewarded by California voters when it comes to Prop 50? No matter what ads they show on television or social media, the fact of the matter is that these policies being pushed and implemented by Newsom and the supermajority have tremendously underperformed and have not delivered for the average Californian who struggles with electricity costs, housing costs, and simply filling up gas to commute from work to home.

Recently, California voters approved a proposition that pushes tough-on-crime policies, and elected a new district attorney in Los Angeles, getting rid of Soros-funded George Gascón. Things are slowly but surely improving in the state, but Prop 50 will put a dent in the strides that California voters have made.

The career politicians, led by Newsom, are pushing Prop 50 to keep their seats safe. It has nothing to do with Texas and everything to do with the momentum in the state shifting away from the Democrats.

Vote NO on Prop 50 to actually preserve democracy and continue making strides in the right direction as a state.
