Secretary of Education Linda McMahon received a heap of praise when she proudly defined what a woman is, after the former head of the department "repeatedly refused" to do so.
During a House Appropriations panel on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, Georgia Republican Rep. Andrew Clyde told McMahon he supported President Donald Trump's choice to have her lead the Department, believing it will be a return to common-sense policy grounded in "biological reality."
"I want to address the radical gender ideology promoted by the Department of Education during the last four years of the Biden-Harris administration," Clyde told the panel.

He talked about how the Department in April 2024 altered Title IX to "include gender identity," which allowed biological males to compete against females in women's sports.
"We've seen the left force female students and athletes to share spaces, such as bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports with biological males," Clyde said. "They have no interest in protecting girls or women, after all, if you can not define a women, you can not defend a woman."
The representative then turned to McMahon and asked her if she could define what a woman is, after pointing to last year's budget hearing when the same question was asked of former Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, who he said "repeatedly refused to define what a woman was, dodging my question three separate times."
"Me," McMahon proudly replied. "I was born a girl and I grew to be an adult woman."
At one point, Clyde also noted that it was great that the Department was giving power back to the states.
"Sending education back to the states," the GA representative said. "For decades, the Department of Education has grown far beyond its original intent. Imposing mandates, funding ideological programs, and entangling schools in red tape that distracts from its core mission of education."
"All the while student performance has declined … costs have ballooned, and bureaucratic overhead has exploded," he added.
McMahon has been rock solid in her support for women's sports. She recently schooled CNN on the dangers of biological men playing in women's sports, RedState reported:
In this Wednesday episode of "How the Media Churns," Secretary of Education Linda McMahon appeared on "CNN This Morning with Kasie Hunt," and gave Hunt heartburn as she explained why Maine Governor Janet Mills has been placed under investigation for civil rights violations because of her insistence on allowing transgender athletes to compete in women and girl's sports. Attorney General Pam Bondi also announced on Wednesday that the Department of Justice has filed a civil lawsuit against the State of Maine over these Title IX violations.
McMahon answered Hunt's question and cogently described to Hunt why men who want to identify as female and compete on girls' sports teams rob the girls of not just opportunity, but safety. Hunt's lack of comprehension was such that McMahon had to reduce her explanation down to smaller words.
After President Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, he signed an Executive Order ending the gender insanity of the last four years, banning biological men from competing in women's sports.
Editor's Note: Donald Trump and his team have been fighting against the left’s extreme gender agenda.
