UK Press Urged Not To Reveal Terrorists Are Muslim
Gaslighting or gas-lighting is a form of psychological abuse in which a victim is manipulated into doubting his or her own memory, perception, and sanity.[1][2] Instances may range from the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents ever occurred up to the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim.
Is it even possible to Gaslight an entire nation ? Looks like the UK is going to try.
A European human rights body is pressuring the United Kingdom to regulate the press so its reporting on terrorist attacks doesn’t emphasize the Muslim identities and motivations of many terrorists.
The request comes from a lengthy report published by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), a monitoring body created by the Council of Europe. The report accuses British newspapers of fueling anti-Muslim bigotry partly through their coverage of Islamic terror attacks. The solution, it says, is for the U.K. to regulate the press more strictly so that reporters can’t publish such material.
Thomas Jefferson observed with regard to the United States that “An educated citizenry is vital to our survival as a free people”. What havoc will a misinformed and miseducated populace wreak on the U.K. ? If the problem is hidden, can’t be properly identified, let alone talked about how do they expect to solve it ? Ignore it and hope it goes away, is no solution.
Minnesota Warns Of Massive Obamacare Rate Hikes
The Minnesota Obamacare exchange is near collapse and officials are predicting between 50 and 67% rate hikes.
Minnesota will let the health insurers in its Obamacare market raise rates by at least 50 percent next year, after the individual market there came to the brink of collapse, the state’s commerce commissioner said Friday.
The increases range from 50 percent to 67 percent, Commissioner Mike Rothman’s office said in a statement. Rothman, who regulates the state’s insurers, is an appointee under Governor Mark Dayton, a Democrat. The rate hike follows increases for this year of 14 percent to 49 percent.
“It’s in an emergency situation — we worked hard and avoided a collapse.” Rothman said in a telephone interview. “It’s a stopgap for 2017.”
I am going to go out on a limb here and predict a 50% rate hike is going to have all but the most unhealthy dropping the plans, adjusting their tax withholding so they aren’t owed any refunds and going full scofflaw with regard to healthcare.
California wants to go super inclusive on Obamacare
CA is petitioning to extend Obama Care to illegal aliens.
California’s health care exchange is requesting that it be allowed a waiver from ObamaCare regulations in order to allow illegal immigrants to buy insurance on the exchange – which would make California the first state to extend ObamaCare to illegal immigrants.
The Affordable Care Act technically bars illegal immigrants from insurance exchanges, but in June Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill that allowed the state to apply for a federal waiver to open Covered California to illegal immigrants living in California. The bill’s sponsor said such a waiver would allow 390,000 illegal immigrants to receive health insurance.
It goes without saying that there is opposition within the state to this, especially since premiums are set to rise over 13% next year
“This is the first step in another misrepresentation of the Affordable Care Act,” Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform told US News & World Report in June. “It was sold to the American people on the fact that you wouldn’t have to subsidize health care for illegal immigrants.”
Mr. Mehlman is spot on. California is taking the first step by focusing on a population that can’t afford the current rates without subsidies, let alone the upcoming rates. They also have no incentive to sign up and it’s hard to guess what penalty will attach if they don’t. Classic left strategy of doubling down on failed ideas.
