In a hardly-surprising development, Saturday's "No Kings" protest in Los Angeles has turned violent, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department to declare an unlawful assembly. Unlike last weekend, law enforcement officers are moving in quickly and en masse.

As my colleague Bob Hoge reported earlier Saturday, 10 LA County Sheriff's deputies have been injured so far in the riots, and LA County Sheriff Robert Luna says his officers are regularly getting hit with rocks, high-grade pyrotechnics, and Molotov cocktails.
Some protesters were even attempting to attack the horses on mounted patrol.
