Republican Tim Sheehy has won the U.S. Senate election in Montana, defeating three-term incumbent Jon Tester and flipping the seat red.
Sheehy's win enlarges the Republicans' majority in the Senate, which flipped to Republican control with Bernie Moreno's projected win late Tuesday night.

While Montana has been reliably red in presidential elections and statewide races, Tester, who's known as a moderate Democrat, has been able to stave off challengers in the past. Tester refused to endorse Kamala Harris and otherwise distanced himself from national Democrats, but generally voted for Biden's policies.
