The Minnesota anti-ICE protests and unrest, which resulted in the death of Renee Good after she was shot while attempting to ram an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent with her car, continues to be used by Democrats as cannon fodder and an excuse for ramping up more protests. It's also a reason for politicians like Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to bloviate and foment more violence. Wednesday's clown show of a press conference had Walz saying that he shared the anger of his people, as RedState Editor Becca Lower reported. Walz derided unnamed others he claimed "want a show," then praised people for "always" protesting peacefully.

There was also Mayor Frey, who spewed more hatred against ICE, then had the nerve to talk about showing "courage, bravery, love and compassion." Twenty-four hours later, he still has this proudly posted on his X account (profanity alert).

The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, which represents the rank-and-file officers and sheriff's deputies in the state, has had enough of both these Nancys. Their interim executive director issued a statement that indicated plainly where they stand, and it's not with the protesters or the politicians.

STATEMENT by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association on today’s ICE activity and political reaction in Minneapolis (St. Paul, Minn.)
Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association Interim Executive Director David Titus said,
“The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association stands firmly behind law enforcement officers, accountability under the law, and the safety of every Minnesota community. Irresponsible, reckless rhetoric from political leaders attacking law enforcement has real and dangerous consequences for officers on the street. When officers are vilified, demonized, or used as political props, it fuels hostility, emboldens bad actors, and puts lives directly at risk.
MPPOA calls on leaders to stop the inflammatory language and respect the legal and investigative process.”
Despite this statement and the criticism received after their abysmal press performance, Walz thought it would be a good idea to hold a press conference after it was announced that Minnesota would have no part in the investigation into Good's death. Walz denied that he had ever used any reckless rhetoric:
Tampon Tim Walz (today): "I've not used inflammatory terms!"

What exactly does he call declaring "war" on the federal government?

Minnesota remains a powder keg, and Minneapolis is still flooded with paid protesters who appear to be turning up rather than ratcheting down the heat. While Walz has attempted to put the genie back into the bottle, it may just be too little, too late.
