It has been a week since the New York Post dropped its first story on Hunter Biden and the contents of his laptop. This is grist for the mill that could make the last two weeks of a Presidential election cycle more interesting, if not riveting.
After a suppression campaign by Facebook and Twitter, where they blocked the story from being shared, then locked the Twitter accounts of the New York Post, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, and others for sharing the article, the traditional press is still giving the story short shrift.
There is more evidence here than the 18-second tape gap that sealed Watergate, yet we are getting collective yawns from the mainstream media outlets.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani received a copy of the hard drive from the Delaware computer shop owner and shared it with the Post. Since then, Giuliani has been selective about the news sources he chooses to talk to about the rollout of its contents.
Since social media couldn’t quash the story, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and CNN have now entered the fray to dismiss the authenticity of the emails. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is doing his usual Russia, Russia, Russia! dance, accusing Rudy Giuliani of being a foreign asset.
Despite the fact that Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe has emphatically disqualified any Russian disinformation, the media still insists on dismissing the emails as “not legitimate”. Miranda Devine of the Post observed:
“We published an email showing Hunter arranged a meeting in 2015 between his VP dad and one of his senior colleagues at corrupt energy company Burisma, which was paying him up to $83,000 a month.
“Neither Joe nor Hunter Biden has disputed that the laptop belongs to Hunter or that the material we have published from the laptop is genuine. Joe’s campaign admitted to Politico that an “informal” meeting with Burisma may have occurred.
“This is new evidence that Joe participated in his family’s cash-for-influence scheme with shady foreign companies.
“Yet the rest of the media is helping the Bidens discredit our reporting using the usual suspects, like James Clapper, who told CNN it was “textbook Soviet Russian tradecraft.”
Guiliani spoke with the Daily Caller’s Christian Datoc, and told him that he was not interested in arguing about how he authenticated the information.
“I don’t want to spend my time arguing process with you. That’s the nonsense that I get from the liberal press all the time. Let’s cover the story first.”
Instead the media would rather argue over Russian disinformation and metadata. Guiliani calls it “petifogging nonsense”.
Biden still refuses to acknowledge the information elicited from the laptop and the email product. He called a lid on his campaign until Thursday’s debate; trafficking in nonsense seems to be the name of the game.
So what does Giuliani believe the story is?
“The Biden family is a crime family,” he said.
There are a number of things about Rudy Giuliani that could be deemed questionable. What is rarely questioned is his nose for organized crime. In 1985, as a New York federal prosecutor, Giuliani masterminded the takedown and indictment of La Cosa Nostra, involving 11 Mafia leaders, some of them the heads of New York’s five dominant crime families.
So if Giuliani says the Biden family is a crime family and he has the receipts, as a journalist, I would want to do the work of either corroborating his assertions, or the disproving them. His charge to Datoc is right: “Cover the crime, and then you figure out how the investigator gets it.”
George Neumayr recently wrote in his book, The Biden Deception: Moderate, Opportunist, or the Democrats’ Crypto-Socialist?
“In truth, Joe Biden knows those influences all too well. He heads up a family of wealthy lobbyists and political operatives who have spent decades trading on his last name.
In Profiles in Corruption, Peter Schweizer points out that the Biden family’s wealth “depends on Joe Biden’s political influence and involves no less than five family members: Joe’s son Hunter, daughter Ashley, brothers James and Frank, and sister Valerie.”
Why does the media have a vested interest in the coverup of these crimes?
Why do they refuse to cover the story?
Hong Kong’s pro-democracy news is connecting the dots that the American media refuses to see. Probably because the international press has less invested in the election’s outcome.
Because the media has been in bed with the Biden campaign since it began, they have a vested interest in a Biden win. This flies in the face of a free press that is supposed to be a check on governmental powers. This entire debacle has laid bare that the media is broken, and has been for a long time.
In April 2019, Comcast’s chief lobbyist David Cohen and his wife hosted a fundraiser for Biden when he first announced his candidacy. Comcast owns NBCUniversal, AT&T, and a number of other media holdings.
A majority of high-level media executives have financially backed a Biden presidency. Ted Sarandos and Reed Hastings of Netflix. The Atlantic’s owner Laurene Powell Jobs (wife of Steve Jobs), and Bob Iger of Disney. Disney owns ABC and ESPN, and maintains a stake in Vice Media.
British journalist and television personality Piers Morgan appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight, and lamented,
“What is happening when liberals want to attack freedom of speech?
“There is a conspiracy happening right before our eyes to make this story go away,” he said.
Indeed. If not for the tactics of Facebook and Twitter creating the “Streisand effect”, the Biden Crime family would have continued to fly under the radar. Should a Biden presidency happen, any investigation into the Biden Crime family’s shady dealings would cease.
Rudy Giuliani insists, “Free speech is an enormously important part of who we are.” With the wholesale takeover of the mainstream media, free speech is getting more and more in short supply.
