Are People Finally Sick of Progressives Trying to Trans Everything?

The progressive left has been working overtime to push its transgender ideology on the rest of the nation. Not only are they trying to promote transgenderism in the military and government agencies, they are also pushing it in K-12 schools. Even further, there is a movement to support the idea that biological men should be allowed to compete in women’s sports.

But there are signs that people are becoming fed up with the left’s efforts to trans everything.

A report from Outkick explained that a biological male named Grant Sikes “spent last week trying to obtain a bid to join an Alabama sorority which is pretty much like winning a national championship within the sorority business.”

Sikes posted a video on TikTok that received millions of views as he documented his quest to obtain the bid. However, the week ended in failure as none of the 20 chapters would accept him.

“Unfortunately, this chapter is closed,” Sikes wrote in an Instagram post. “This recruitment journey is over for me. Being dropped from my last house this morning during primary recruitment at the University of Alabama doesn’t come as a surprise considering out of the almost 20 chapters – I was dropped by every single one except 2 before day 1.”

“I’m hopeful of a future where everyone is welcomed for just being themselves – everywhere,” he continued. “If you are going through a hard time today, remember that life is too short to ponder on the things lost. Choose happiness & always look for the positive things throughout life. Move on. See the good. See the bad. Hope for the best. Brave the worst.”

This story comes only weeks after Lia Thomas, a biological male who competes with biological women in swimming, was nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year.

Could this be the beginning of a greater backlash against the effort to trans everything? When the Thomas controversy emerged, many criticized him on social media and elsewhere. But there wasn’t much backlash coming from his fellow students or their parents. Apparently, the threat of cancelation was keeping them silent.

But in this case, these sororities did not seem to consider that the Cancel Culture Community might come after them. This is a promising sign. Perhaps more college-oriented entities will be willing to do the same – especially when it comes to sports. The fact that males invading women’s spaces is even a thing is disturbing. Maybe the far left is overplaying its hand?

The effort to promote transgenderism to small children in schools is also facing pushback, and not just from conservative-leaning Americans. Some states have passed legislation designed to prevent teachers from encouraging transgenderism without the knowledge of parents.

Still, the trans movement in schools persists. I recently wrote about Michigan implementing a policy requiring teachers to conceal information from the parents of students who believe they are transgender. The state’s Education Department is training its teachers and school staff to do things like hiding a student’s decision to change their name and pronouns. The trainings told staff that “students have privacy rights” and that “schools don’t have a legal obligation to tell parents that a student goes by a different name or pronouns than their legal name.”

This is an ongoing battle that will likely not be concluded anytime soon. However, it is very possible that the tide is starting to turn. Let’s hope it happens sooner rather than later.
