President Joe Biden seemed to step in it once again when he was asked to address the incident in which rabid far-leftist activists follow Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) into the bathroom to harass her over the “Build Back Better” agenda. As RedState’s Bonchie noted, when the president was asked about the encounter he responded:
I don’t think they’re appropriate tactics, but it happens to everybody [laughs]. The only people it doesn’t happen are people who have Secret Service standing around. It’s part of the process.
You might also be shocked to find out that members of the activist media mobilized to defend the president’s seemingly absurd comments, as RedState’s Sister Toldjah also reported.
If Sinema did not want to be confronted by her constituents about her policies she shouldn’t have run for office. The reason they had to confront her in a restroom is because she has continuously refused to engage with them. https://t.co/ybiIZ1oVuA

But what if President Biden was right?
If you pay close attention to politics, you know harassment in public is always “part of the process” – assuming that you’re a high-profile individual who does not acquiesce to the wishes of the hard left. Indeed, it is rare that they will give real criticism of people who engage in this type of unhinged behavior when they are doing it to people who disagree with them. As we see in the case of Sinema, it doesn’t even matter if you have a “D” next to your name. When you step out of line, harassment is “part of the process.”
Of course, we would be remiss to forget that this is not the case when it involves a conservative doing this type of thing. Remember when footage surfaced of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in 2019 harassing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) before Greene was elected to Congress? When the footage showing Greene shouting at AOC and her staff through the mail slot in the door to her office, Democrats and the activist media – but I repeat myself – clutched their collective pearls, acting as if she had just stabbed a puppy with a rusty screwdriver.
The same happened when footage showed Greene harassing anti-gun activist and Parkland survivor David Hogg in D.C. Fervent hand wringing ensued, with high-profile leftists whining about the fact that Hogg wasn’t even 18 yet, so it was like harassing a child.
One of the most important characteristics of prominent leftists is that they hate the idea that their own so-called principles should be applied consistently. They believe they are above having to adhere to the principles they claim to embrace.
This is why they believe Rep. Greene’s actions are reprehensible while thinking it is not a big deal if leftists do the same to those who don’t toe the progressive line. Indeed, this reality does not have to even apply to high-profile individuals.
When Antifa began ramping up its efforts to violently suppress conservative rallies and other events, the activist media turned a blind eye to their harassing behavior and violent tendencies. When they did acknowledge it – which was rare – they pooh-poohed the matter, pretending it was something that did not happen often.
Even now, after they have finally admitted that Antifa exists, they have downplayed the group’s antics. In many cases, they even helped spread the network’s propaganda, claiming that they only demonstrate against actual fascists when it is clear they view everyone they disagree with as fascists. This is why they have disrupted Trump rallies and other conservative events.
The bottom line is that there is nothing surprising about Biden’s comments or the attempts by his allies to defend him. The hard left truly believes that harassing people who don’t do their bidding is just fine and dandy. This is their approach even though they will condemn the same ridiculous behavior when it is done by someone like Rep. Greene.
There is only one explanation for this contradiction: These people have absolutely no real principles. They do not actually believe the things they say. The way to tell if someone actually believes in a principle is to see what they say or do when it applies to someone they don’t like. In cases such as these, the fact that they will rightly criticize Greene for her stunts but give a whole pass to Antifa and people like the activists who harassed Sinema demonstrates fully that these people don’t mean a word of what they say, which is why they should never be taken seriously.
