Democrats Who Want Revenge If Trump Leaves Office Might Be Disappointed

As we already know, the progressive left will not stop trying to destroy President Trump even if he leaves office. They are already planning to wage a vicious lawfare campaign to damage him as much as possible. However, there is one avenue of attack that may not work out for them.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is signaling that his administration will not prioritize prosecuting Trump if he becomes the next president. He indicated that he would not push for a criminal investigation into Trump in an effort to heal the American divide.

Trump’s business and tax affairs are already being investigated in New York, and he has reportedly told aides that he expects politically-motivated attempts to prosecute him. However, while many Democrats are giddy at the thought of launching these investigations and prosecutions, others take a more reasonable view of the situation.

Hank Sheinkopf, a Democratic strategist, told the Washington Examiner that Biden’s refusal to push for more investigations into Trump is a wise move. “Do we really need to continue the Trump era by going after him? Trump wants to be attacked because what happens? He becomes a martyr to his own people, to the Trumpniks, of which there are more than 70 million,” he said.

After the corporate media outlets dubbed him the winner of the presidential election, Biden gave a speech in which he pledged to be “a president who seeks not to divide, but to unify.” Of course, this was nothing more but cheap talk. When members of Antifa-related groups and Black Lives Matter showed up to D.C. on Saturday to physically assault Trump supporters, Biden refused to condemn them by name, choosing to supposedly condemn “all violence” instead.

Even so, the former vice president reportedly told aides that pushing for more investigations into Trump’s taxes or pardons given to his allies could damage hopes for unity. Instead, his priorities will be “the coronavirus, climate change, and race relations rather than looking backward at his predecessor in the White House,” according to the Examiner.

Biden will undoubtedly receive no small level of pushback from the more bloodthirsty crowd in the Democratic Party. Last week, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who bears a disturbing resemblance to Dexter, demanded a full investigation into Trump’s tenure as president. He suggested that a “presidential crimes commission” be created to further look into Trump.

“The idea is, we’re going to have to have a reckoning over what the president and his enablers have done to our country,” he told TMZ. “And I want that to be independent, I want it to be outside Congress, but I do believe that we do need to understand what crimes were committed.”

Of course, the lawmaker who looks like Dexter won’t be the only one on the left who will pressure Biden to launch more politically-motivated investigations. The far-left progressive crowd will surely echo Swalwell’s sentiments.

If Biden is true to his word, then Trump may not have to worry about the Department of Justice being weaponized against him. But this does not mean that other bad actors in the government won’t try to seek different ways to enact their revenge. Moreover, leftists outside the government are already gunning for him the moment he leaves the White House.

While their efforts are unlikely to succeed, their pursuit of these Quixotic legal endeavors might just backfire. Sheinkopf is at least partially correct; If the rabid leftist crowd goes overboard in their quest to destroy Trump, it could have the unintended effect of galvanizing conservatives who would love to shove another finger in their eye as they did in 2016. Unfortunately for the left, their more extreme elements won’t think this far and will give in to their more authoritarian impulses.
