A Ray of Hope for San FranSicko?

San Francisco, or San FranSicko as talk show host Michael Savage calls the famously uber-liberal city, has been in the news recently because of a rash of flash mob robberies. Thieves have hit jewelry stores and other high-end luxury brand stores like Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Crime is spiraling out of control due to the policies of their soft on crime prosecutor, Chesa Boudin. This guy is so bad, that even the citizens of San Francisco think he’s a joke and they have gathered enough signatures to recall him next June. Wow, there seems to be a ray of hope for California’s Soddom and Gomorrah by the Bay.

Boudin’s parents, members of the radical leftist group The Weather Underground, were convicted of murder when he was fourteen due to their involvement in a New York Brink’s robbery that resulted in the deaths of two police officers and a security guard in 1981. They both were convicted of felony murder and sentenced to long prison sentences. Ironically, disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo, on his last day in office, granted Boudin’s father a partial sentence commutation and he was just released this month

There may be another ray of sunshine peeking through the liberal clouds in San Francisco. Three San Francisco school board members, THREE, could be recalled in February. The school board president and two other members are under fire for spending too much time during the pandemic on social justice issues like renaming schools instead of working on a viable plan to restart in-person learning. Yes, you heard that right. And try not to spit out your drink but opponents of the recall say it is spearheaded by right-wing Republicans — even though the city is overwhelmingly Democratic and the Democratic mayor actually supports the recall!

I believe Republicans have found a winning issue with voters next year if they keep the focus on these unaccountable school boards and corrupt teacher’s unions. Critical Race Theory being taught in Virginia’s schools did indeed play a factor in successful businessman Glenn Youngkin’s surprise victory over Terry McAuliffe last month. But exit polls show that what really inflamed parents was not the teaching of CRT — mask mandates and the closure of schools for long periods of time is what really hacked them off. Of course, McAuliffe saying parents didn’t have a right to know what their kids are being taught in school didn’t help either.

Political pundits, including this one, are predicting a red wave tsunami come next November and all the signs are there. A recent generic congressional poll showed Republicans with a ten-point advantage over the Democrats. Republicans have never had a lead this large EVER in this generic poll. A year is an eternity in politics, of course, but barring any self-made, foot-in-mouth disease disaster by Republicans, they should retake the House AND Senate next year.

I see only two real hopes for Democrats. One, the 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion ruling is overturned and it galvanizes Democratic voters. Two, they convince the public that the Omicron variant is just as dangerous as the pre-vaccination variant and we need to return to the so-called safeguards used during last year’s elections — like 24-hour drop boxes and sending ballots to every single registered voter. These and other similar measures caused massive distrust in the integrity of our elections, but as long as Democrats can win using these controversial tactics, we know they couldn’t care less. It’s all about power and long-term control for them.
