The election results across the country on Tuesday are being analyzed and matrixed by every TV pundit and politician in America this morning. For Republicans, there's certainly room for concern. To be clear, I was not expecting much from the GOP last night in Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and California. For years now, Virginia has been trending deep blue. Democrat Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger won the governor's race in the state, defeating Republican and current Lt. Governor Winsome Sears. Of the past seven Virginia governors elected, five have been Democrats, so this is less surprising, although Virginia flipped back to Democratic control.
While I believe Republicans need to fight with everything we have in blue states, no one is truly surprised by the outcomes in New Jersey, California, and New York. While it would be nice to be competitive within these states, we have to keep working to make those dreams a reality. The outspoken socialist, Zohran Mamdani, won the race for New York City Mayor, which will drag America's greatest city into deeper despair. Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom's "Prop 50" passed last night, which will further gerrymander the state and may cost Republican seats in the House of Representatives. In New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill defeated Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli. Ciarrarelli gave all he had in the race, ran a great campaign, but he just came up short.

This was Jersey’s chance to rebuild, but they decided to dig their hole even deeper.

So, where does this leave Republicans? As I mentioned, I am not concerned about Republicans losing races in predominantly blue states. I am concerned about the future and what this means for the 2026 House and Senate races if we don't get our act together, and fast. Tuesday night, Democrats in Georgia flipped two Public Service Commission seats from red to blue. While this was a special election, the results are still a wake-up call for Republicans as Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff's Georgia U.S. Senate seat is in play next November. Republicans in Congress need to build momentum legislatively heading into the 2026 election season.
Here’s the issue Republicans have been having over and over again: If President Trump is not on the ballot, the results have become a mixed bag. I understand generally that presidential races bring more voters to the polls, but Republicans are going to have to find success legislatively in order to drive people to the vote on Election Day.
Republicans need to work as hard as Trump does every day. This may sound obvious, but President Trump is able to accomplish so much because of the work he puts in. He is Mr. Worldwide. In just nine months, Trump has secured the U.S. border — something that many of us believed would take at least a year — he did in, frankly, just a few months. While he works to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, he’s consistently brought peace to other regions. The ongoing effort between Israel and Hamas is historic. The release of all remaining living hostages was something many thought might never happen. Again, he accomplished this in less than a year.
The economic investment companies across the world have committed to is astounding. Yes, the tariffs have worked to bring countries taking advantage of America to the negotiating table, but Trump has also secured investment from these same countries. Apple, NVIDIA, GE, Whirlpool. The list of companies is long and continues to grow. These investments are to the tune of billions of dollars.
Republicans in Congress need to push the envelope. Put pressure on the Democrats to vote against the interests of the American people. Regarding investigations, put issues like Arctic Frost in front of the American people. We know Democrats in leadership have used the government to target conservatives. If these revelations are proved true, people need to go to prison — not only to energize the base, but to show that Republicans are not going to allow the lawfare that has plagued normal American citizens and worked to take down Republican leaders. It’s ridiculous.
Republicans must walk and chew gum at the same time. Investigate. legislate. Fundraise. Get after it every day. Don’t sleep. Put in the extra effort. Take a page from President Trump's book. Hard work pays off. If we lose the House or Senate next November, Democrats will use that victory to stall President Trump’s agenda at every turn and distract from the real prize, the 2028 presidential race.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
