Rand Paul Wins the CPAC 2015 Straw Poll

As I predicted yesterday, [mc_name name=’Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’P000603′ ] won the 2015 CPAC Straw poll for the third time in a row:

Scott Walker – 21%
[mc_name name=’Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’C001098′ ] – 17%
Ben Carson – 11%
Jeb Bush – 8%
[mc_name name=’Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000595′ ] – 4%
Donald Trump – 3.5%
Chris Christie – 2.8%
Bobby Jindal – 0.9%
Sarah Palin – 0.8%
Mike Huckabee 0.3%
John Bolton 0.3%
[mc_name name=’Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’G000359′ ] 0.1%
George Pataki – 0.1%
Undecided – 1.0

There is an art to winning these sort of straw polls. You organize a campaign, bus in supporters and make a media splash. Paul’s father was good at it as well. Other than a few bragging rights and helping to convince people to contribute to you, it just doesn’t matter.
