'Doctor Who' Is Collapsing As Disney, Showrunners, and Actors Walk Away From the Dead Show

The last time I reported on the status of Doctor Who, the show's Christmas special was on the rocks because they couldn't find an actor willing to play the legendary British role. In the past, this wouldn't have been an issue. Playing the Doctor is a role of a lifetime, and one that cements you into the annals of history thanks to Doctor Who being something of a British staple.

Yet, the show had become so toxic thanks to modern politics and woke intrusions that its viewership had plummeted, those involved were subjected to public scorn, and the show had become something of a joke.

Thus, no one wanted to take part in the annual Christmas special.

Well, as it turns out, it's far worse than even that, and honestly, this show should be the first chapter in a book called "Go Woke, Go Broke: Better Business Practices in the Modern Age."

As the BBC reported, the Christmas special is now canceled, but it gets even worse than that:

Since 2023, Doctor Who had been co-produced by Cardiff-based production company Bad Wolf, while the BBC struck a deal with Disney+ to co-produce and distribute the show internationally.

But Disney's involvement came to an end in 2025 after 26 episodes, and it was confirmed the company would no longer be involved with the show.

That's right. The show is so bad that even Disney is no longer involving itself with it.

Oh, but it gets even better:

As reported by Deadline, the show's production company is also exiting stage left:

The exit of Davies and Bad Wolf, who signed up for Doctor Who as part of a major reboot in 2021, will result in the BBC putting the series out to competitive tender.

It means that BBC Studios, which owns the rights to Doctor Who, or an independent producer will have the opportunity to reinvent the beloved Time Lord.

“As part of securing the next phase of the show for future generations, and in line with the BBC’s Charter and Agreement requirements, the BBC will put Doctor Who out to competitive tender this year. Doctor Who remains an important part of the BBC and this tender underpins the BBC’s continued commitment to Doctor Who ensuring audiences will enjoy the show for years to come,” the BBC said in a statement.

So, to be clear, the show had sunk so far beneath the waves that the rats are all jumping ship.

The people who goofed the show up so badly that it became unrecognizable to its fanbase are now moving on from the corpse.

I cannot give you a better example of how these radical leftists operate. They move in on something that people love, dominate it, subjugate it, fundamentally change it, and then leave the husk when they're done, and it can't serve their purposes any longer.

The question now is, will the BBC learn its lesson and actually hire someone to reinvent the show in a way that will draw the fans back in?

My money says no. The BBC is still just as infected with the same brand of leftism that opened the show up for this kind of corruption in the first place. Whoever they hire, I'm willing to bet they will be just as, if not more, woke than the previous two showrunners. The corpse of the good doctor will continue to be used as a puppet for whatever leftist nonsense they're trying to promote today.

Regardless, I think it's pretty well established at this point that no one wants this. To be honest, "wokeness" feels like something that was pretty popular during the early 2020s but has since gone out of fashion. The only people who seem unable to let it go are the leftists who based their entire identity on identity politics, and so they're trying to push something that everyone has moved on from, including the normies.

You can see this happening in so many franchises nowadays, it's hard to remember them all.

Still, the lesson should be plain. Don't invite the vampires in. If you do, they'll suck you dry and then leave before daylight.
