Joe Scarborough Finally Drops the Act, Signals He's Throwing in the Towel on Biden

I was looking forward to this moment.

The Democrat Party's media propagandists watched in shock and horror as the man they'd been defending and propping up for the better part of four years completely disintegrated on national television in front of God and everybody. A dense depressive mist descended on the corporate media world as it finally had to admit that conservatives were right, President Joe Biden is not all there, and it's time for him to go.

One of those people was Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Scarborough had spent quite a bit of time on air talking down to people about Biden. He would project his own insecurities about the man he purportedly felt a deep emotional connection with onto Trump, claiming that it was Trump, not Biden, who was suffering a mental decline. He suggested to viewers that he had personally witnessed Biden's mental acuity, and it was better than it had ever been!

"F you if you can't handle the truth," said Scarborough straight to the camera (i.e. you). "This version of Biden, intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever."

Scarborough said that in March. Let's fast-forward to the day after the debate. What is Scarborough saying now?

After kissing Biden's feet and proclaiming his presidency was an "unqualified success," Scarborough said something that signals he doesn't think Biden is intellectually, analytically, the best Biden ever.

"If, however, you believe, as do I, and as do so many people who watch this program, and who fear just how dark of a place a second Donald Trump term will take America, then I think it is critical that we ask the same questions about this man I love, respect, and whose — whose public service in saving this country from Donald Trump over the last three and a half years I honor and always will. I think we have to ask the same questions of him that we have asked of Donald Trump since 2016. And that is, if he were CEO and he turned in a performance like that, would any corporation in America, any Fortune 500 corporation in America keep him on as CEO?”

Scarborough challenged anyone to a debate whether Biden can run the country effectively, a challenge I'm sure he'd pass up if it was actually accepted, but Scarborough masked his reservations about Biden by saying he couldn't win an election against Trump.

"In fact, as The New York Times said, he spent much of the night with his mouth agape and his eyes darting back and forth," said Scarborough. "He couldn't fact-check anything Donald Trump said. Not only that, he missed one lay-up after another, after another."

Scarborough laid down a lot of self-soothing words before he finally just admitted that Biden did not live up to the Morning Joe host's hype.

"I'll just say, as I said on the show, I spent three hours with this man, maybe, back in March," Scarborough said. "Three hours, cogent, on top of the issues, on top of every issue around the world. And, last night, he simply was not on the biggest debate stage ever. And I think what surprised me and what surprised a lot of people very close to Joe Biden is the fact that this man always rises to the occasion and last night was — was sadly for him, and I believe for Democrats and this country, and, again, if you believe what's at stake in this election is what we believe is at stake, I'll even use the word tragically, tragically did not rise to the occasion last night.”

So Scarborough no longer thinks Biden can win this election, which is a pretty common sentiment among the media elite at the moment. However, what many Americans are asking is how and why Scarborough and his colleagues didn't see what was so obvious to everyone else. As journalists, aren't they supposed to see through the veil and get to the facts?

It's moments like these when Americans in general should start wondering if the press is all there themselves.
