If Trump Is a Political Prisoner, We All Are

Donald Trump said he was a "political prisoner," and he's not that far off the mark. The man was found guilty of multiple felonies after a trial that was brought against him for obviously political reasons, and after being found guilty on all counts, he now gets to go through a legal song and dance that will keep him rooted in place, dealing with all of this for months.

It doesn't help that when asked if he actually was one, Joe Biden stopped, smirked at the camera, then kept walking, as Nick Arama reported on Friday.

It's not like they didn't telegraph this attack beforehand. The Democrats ran on being the "anti-Trump" party, and they effectively made good on an unspoken campaign promise. They were going to get Trump, and they did. Say what you want about Democrats, but they are an offensively-minded group of people, a trait the Republican Party could use a little more of.

They impeached the guy twice and had ongoing Democrat-led investigations, including the Mueller investigation. Hell, they even wanted to destroy his legacy by reversing almost every good thing he did when he was in office. In a way, this entire administration's focus has been the complete destruction of Trump from the man to the name.

Also, keep in mind that in order to convict him, they had to perform some Olympic-level gymnastics to even have the case happen in the first place. They had to find a creative way to get around the statute of limitations to begin with and find a way to turn the misdemeanors they wanted to charge him with into felonies. This included using COVID-19-related rules as well as using his absence from New York to be President of the United States in D.C. to toll the statute of limitations.

They wanted him, and they found a way to get him.

This should be a worrisome thing for any and all Americans. Trump once said that, ultimately, this isn't about him, it's about us, he was just in the way. He wasn't ever wrong about that. The Democrats are as angry with Trump as they are because he was a real threat to their power, which they covet above all things. So that the system could get to you, they first had to deal with Trump, who, if he succeeds in November, will become a massive roadblock and potentially a danger to their power.

And if it happened to Trump, it can definitely happen to you. Just look at the stories about Dexter Taylor and Daniel Penny that have been covered here on RedState. Both of these men did nothing wrong. In fact, in Penny's case, he was defending the innocent from a violent man, yet both of these men were doing things the Democrats didn't like in some capacity, and as such, they went above and beyond to make examples of them.

The main thing here is that in a system where the Democrats freely use our justice system as a way to enact their will on the people, including attacking political opposition and making examples of people for doing things they don't like, then you're just a Trump waiting to happen. Like Penny and Taylor, it'll come at you sideways. You won't know you did anything wrong until they come put the handcuffs on you. During the trial, they'll tell you your constitutional rights don't apply here, just like they did with Taylor

In this system the Democrats are establishing, you are guilty until proven innocent, and good luck with that. If they want you to be guilty, they'll put the proceedings so out of your favor that they might as well just get to the sentencing part. You're a political prisoner waiting to happen.

I say this a lot, but I mean this more than ever.

Vote accordingly.
