Despite its flaws, X is the best social media platform in the Western world due to the high volume of users, ideological diversity, and most importantly, the ability of these diverse ideologies to speak their peace without worrying about being censored.
While there are other sites that make free speech a priority, X is the most widely used and, thanks to a bit of clever engineering, a site that continuously ruins the narratives of grifters, liars, and authoritarians. For Democrats, this is largely unforgivable. Before Elon Musk came along and bought Twitter, the left pretty much had a perfect narrative creation device in the social media platform.
They've never forgiven Musk for cutting off one of their hands, and as you can see from recent events, they're trying to correct the error by putting X in serious financial trouble by lying about Musk being an antisemite by stripping some words he said of context and encouraging advertisers to abandon him. It was a successful campaign that has now launched retaliatory lawsuits, not just from Musk, but from various other websites as well such as Rumble.

It should really tell you what the left thinks about when it comes to free speech, but more importantly, what it believes when it comes to you. It's a clear and evident sign that the left doesn't think you should be getting the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. It thinks you should be getting the story through the lens they provide because they think they're better than you in every way and you should just be following them blindly.
And maybe not just them...
It shouldn't be lost on you that the Democrats, or the left in general, see too much wrong with TikTok hanging around. The Chinese-owned platform is notorious for being a narrative-creation platform, not just for China, but for the left as well. In fact, one in five voters hang out on the platform and many of them are of the younger variety.
Given the fact that China and the Democrat Party seem to have a very cozy relationship with one another, Democrats are more than happy to let TikTok thrive as they try to take down an American bastion of free speech.
In fact, try to attack TikTok and you'll find Democrats rushing to its aid as reported by the Washington Post:
A trio of liberal Democrats rallied against a TikTok ban steps away from the U.S. Capitol late Wednesday, staging a rare defense of the embattled video-sharing platform as bipartisan scrutiny of its alleged national security risks soars in Washington.
Flanked by a raft of TikTok power users, Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.), Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) and Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) denounced efforts to boot the app from the United States as an affront on free expression online that would harm small businesses and digital creators.
“Our First Amendment gives us the right to speak freely and to communicate freely, and TikTok as a platform has created a community and a space for free speech for 150 million Americans and counting,” Bowman said while standing alongside over two dozen TikTok influencers.
In fact, as WaPo reported, Democrats worry that if a crackdown on TikTok does happen, it will harm the Democrat Party:
“Ditching something that has proven to be incredibly helpful to winning elections is like shooting yourself in the foot,” said Aidan Kohn-Murphy, the 19-year-old founder of Gen-Z for Change, a coalition of creators formerly known as TikTok for Biden.
Kohn-Murphy and Victor Shi, strategy director for Voters of Tomorrow, a group also aimed at Gen Z, said numerous Democratic campaigns have expressed interest in cultivating relationships with creators of TikTok content, building on the 2020 and 2022 election cycles. “For any campaign that wants to get their message out to young people, I don’t think you can do that without TikTok,” Shi said.
That’s where the potential problems come in for Democrats, whose reliance on younger voters has only become greater with the ascendance of politically potent issues such as abortion rights, climate change, racial equity and gun control.
To be clear, outside of making sure China doesn't utilize TikTok as spyware, I personally don't believe any of these platforms should be shut down. To be transparent, I utilize TikTok to add my voice to the conversation as well, which I think is important for the right to do, especially since it's one of the most trafficked platforms on the planet.
But the Democrat's hyper-fixation on bringing down X and its fear that TikTok may disappear should be a clear indicator as to where their loyalties lie.
Bottom line: They're not with you or your right to free speech.
