When I say "women's soccer," a singular face likely appears in your mind and not because of fame but infamy. Megan Rapinoe has been excessively pushed on Americans ad nauseum because she represents something that the mainstream media agrees with culturally and politically.
She's a self-absorbed, "empowered," lesbian woman who hates America and loves preaching social justice. If she was a drug, the corporate media machine would be mainlining it directly into their arms.
Yet, for everyone else, Rapinoe is a symptom of a much deeper cancer plaguing our society. She carries with her an undeserved pride, she detests the values most Americans have and is quick to point out what she considers our societal sins while being incredibly slow to forgive them upon things being "rectified."
Rapinoe has made most Americans detest women's soccer to the point where we cheered when she lost the game that cast America out of the World Cup.

But despite the media's incessant pushing of Rapinoe into our consciousness, she doesn't have to define the Women's World Cup. In fact, people can still be huge fans of it here in America, they just have to find a different face, and it would appear that the World Cup has given it to us.
As the Daily Caller reported, Spain's Olga Carmona has become a fan favorite across the globe and she couldn't be more different than Rapinoe. Carmona became a huge hit after Spain's win against England:
Spain and England squared off Sunday in the final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Sydney, Australia, with the former scoring a 1-0 victory to win the trophy.
In an intense game, Spain left back Olga Carmona broke the ice with a goal in the 29th minute, which would prove to be the difference maker to give Spain its first ever World Cup championship.
It's not the victory that people loved about Carmona, it's about how she reacted to it.
"This victory goes to the mother of one of my best friends. I dedicate it to the whole family and with all my love," she said.

While the sentiment was utterly sweet, she didn't know at that moment that her father had passed away and that her family had decided to keep that from her until after the game. He never got to see her score the goal that won their nation the World Cup. She later posted about the bittersweetness of that day, showing appreciation for the support from her fans and dedicating the win to her father also.
“I have no words to thank all your love. Yesterday was the best and the worst day of my life,” Carmona posted on Twitter. “I know that you would like to see me enjoy this historic moment, that is why I will be with my colleagues, so that from wherever you are you know that this star is also yours, dad.”

Carmona never made her sport about herself. She didn't make the win about payment. She was focused on others, even dedicating her win to her friend's mother. Even when she found out her father died, she still showed appreciation to her fans for their love and support.
A selfless, caring woman.
Compare that to this monstrosity.

The difference is jarring. It's kind of hard to believe that something so beautiful and something so detestable can share the same space.
There is something to be gleaned from it, however.
The mainstream media doesn't have to define our culture. We find ourselves constantly asking how the world got to the way it is, and while very powerful people definitely control the big stage, corporations, and a good portion of this country, their vision isn't reality.
Boycotts have proven that the American people can break the backs of powerful corporations. Everything from Bud Light to Disney is bleeding out on the floor because the people have turned their backs on them. Meanwhile, various products made by good people and with quality in mind take center stage.
Sound of Freedom and Nefarious continue to enjoy success. Oliver Anthony's "Rich Men North of Richmond" continues to top the charts. Stories that don't feature leftism continue to outsell American woke media by leaps and bounds.
Culture has become a cesspool of globally-induced wokeness but, despite its best efforts, it can't stop people from seeing a thing through better filters.
In order for something ugly to define a thing, we have to collectively agree that it does. All we have to do is say "no" and it won't. These corporations and politicians want to define our world for us. They push concepts and people on us relentlessly. They spend billions of dollars to do it.
All we have to do is not agree that their vision is our vision. We say no to Rapinoe and yes to Carmona. We say no to Disney's latest shrug-worthy offering and yes to Sound of Freedom. We say no to whatever a major label is limping to the barn with and yes to "Rich Men North of Richmond."
We can define our world, not them.
