CNN's Ratings Dropped an Astounding 90% After 2021

CNN might be one the biggest examples of what not to do when it comes to pretty much everything. It went from being one of the most-watched and trusted names in news to a cesspool of unwatchable and ultra-biased reporting masquerading as objective journalism and scandal-ridden employees.

The proof that the network has become little more than a garbage dump is in its ratings, which have been in freefall for some time now, but the latest numbers show just how far the network has plummeted in terms of popularity.

According to the New York Post, the once-vaunted news network lost 90 percent of its viewership after 2021:

CNN’s ratings took a nosedive by a massive 90 percent both overall and in the all-important demographic coveted by advertisers in the first week of the new year.

The Jeff Zucker-led cable news network averaged just 548,000 viewers during the week of Jan. 3 — a major drop from the nearly 2.7 million viewers for the same week in 2021, according to Nielsen ratings.

CNN has been confronted with failure after failure, issue after issue, including its inability to attract viewers during January 6, a day that CNN attempted to turn into something of a national day of remembrance.

This is on top of horrifying scandals, the most popular of which was the dismissal of its most popular host, Chris Cuomo, after he was discovered to have far more involvement in the scandal surrounding the sexual assault accusations aimed at his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

This is in addition to one of Cuomo’s producers, who was arrested for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl, along with the arrest of a producer for Jake Tapper who solicited nude pictures of a child along with lewd text messages. This arrest was made after the producer, Rick Saleeby, had resigned from CNN and kept that information a secret until the investigation forced them to comment.

This is the same CNN that falsely attacked Joe Rogan over his use of Ivermectin, spreading the rumor that he was taking horse de-wormer and attempting to create a narrative that Rogan was a spreader of misinformation and a danger to his listeners.

Between the 90 percent drop in viewership and the numerous scandals, it’s likely to put CNN President Jeff Zucker in the hot seat, as the network has done horribly under his direction. CNN’s parent company, WarnerMedia, is set to merge with Discovery this year, putting Zucker’s fate in question, but industry experts say it doesn’t look good.

“Jeff isn’t the supreme ruler anymore as was made clear when they made him fire Cuomo. He’s become a liability with his embarrassing defense of liberal activists like Cuomo, Don Lemon and Jim Acosta,” an industry executive told Fox News.

Either way, something at CNN has to break. The question will be whether it’s Zucker or the network.
