The Environmental Protection Agency is consistently one of the least trustworthy government agencies in terms of how it spends our tax dollars, and apparently, investigators found that employees are too busy looking at huge…tracts of land than doing their jobs.

According to the Daily Caller, at least three EPA employees were caught watching pornography during work hours, on top of one EPA employee who received 38 months in prison after obstructing a child pornography investigation by the EPA’s Office of Inspector General:

An EPA GS-13 employee allegedly received, viewed and disseminated inappropriate materials, including adult pornography, to other EPA employees and individuals outside of the agency via an EPA email account. The investigation supported the allegations. EPA management suspended the employee for 14 days without pay, the employee challenged the suspension and the matter was settled through arbitration.

An EPA GS-12 employee allegedly conducted personal business during official work time. The employee also allegedly maintained pornographic images on an EPA computer. The investigations supported the allegations, and the employee resigned.

It was alleged that a contract employee accessed pornographic and other nonwork-related websites while working on an EPA contract. The allegation was supported. The contract employee was terminated, and the contracting company issued a credit to the EPA for the contractor’s misused time.

This seems to be a constant problem within the EPA. Various incidents have occurred where EPA employees were caught with copious amounts of pornography on their computer, including one person in 2014 who had over 7,000 files of it on his computer. He was caught watching porn when investigators came to visit but the employee was never fired.

Two have been caught with child pornography. The aforementioned EPA employee who was sentenced to 38 months was Floyd O’Hara, who pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in 2018. The second was an EPA IT specialist in 2015 who was caught with child pornography by investigators. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison with five years of supervised release.

I’m not sure what the purpose of the EPA is at this time. At the moment they seem to spend a lot of energy using money that comes out of my wallet and yours to become experts at the environment in PornHub. I get that it’s wildly more interesting than reports about groundwater samples and the health of tree bark, but if I hand you five dollars to clean my yard I’d be pretty peeved if I came back and saw you looking into the neighbor’s bedroom.

Either get to work, or better yet, dissolve the position until the EPA is just like your search history: Deleted.
