WATCH: There's a "Woke" Rewrite of "Baby It's Cold Outside" and It's As Cringey As You Think It Is

There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the Christmas classic “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” and it all revolves around the feminist idea that the man is trying to sexually harass or eventually assault the girl in the song.

Yeah, I think it’s pretty ridiculous too.

As I explained before, there’s nothing wrong with the song, and it only highlights a flirty and cute interaction between a man trying to get a woman he likes to stay with him a while longer.

However, if you’re still under the impression that the song isn’t woke enough for the current year, then do I have great news for you! There’s a woke version you can feel all sorts of better than everyone else for listening to. Just beware that if you listen to it unironically in front of anyone else, you might never be invited to another Christmas party again.

According to the DailyWire, the original remake of the song was released in 2016, with a woman playing and singing softly on a guitar, while an incel sings along with her.

According to the DailyWire, the song has resurfaced into the mainstream thanks to a Minnesota Radio station utilizing the fresh batch of controversy surrounding it to re-up it for a bout of good ol’ fashioned leftist Christmas virtue signaling:

The song was first rewritten in 2016, though it recently resurfaced due to the controversy it yet again sparked with the Social Justice Left. According to Minnesota radio station The Current, songwriters Lydia Liza and Josiah Lemanski “revised the lyrics to emphasize the importance of consent in sexual relationships.” The Current gushed about how much they “loved” the new tune and had Liza and Lemanski perform the scrubbed-of-romance version live in studio.

If you don’t want to, or can’t bring yourself to click the play button on the video above, the Daily Wire has helpfully put the lyrics out as well:

I really can’t stay (Baby, I’m fine with that)

I’ve gotta go away (Baby, I’m cool with that)

This evening has been (I’m hoping you get home safe)

So very nice (I’m glad you had a real good time)

My mother will start to worry (Call her so she knows that you’re coming)

My father will be pacing the floor (Better get your car home)

So really I’d better scurry (Take your time)

Should I use the front or back door (Which one are you pulling toward more)

The neighbors might think (That you’re a really nice girl)

Say what is this drink (Pomegranate La Croix)

I wish I knew how (Maybe I’ll help you out)

To break this spell (I don’t know what you’re talking about)

I ought to say no, no, no, sir (You reserve the right to say no)

At least I’m gonna say that I tried (You reserve the right to say no)

I really can’t stay (You don’t have to)

Ah, but it’s cold outside

I’ve got to get home (Do you know how to get there from here)

Say, where is my coat (I’ll go and grab it, my dear)

You’ve really been grand (We’ll have to do this again)

Yes, I agree (How ’bout the Cheesecake Factory)

We’re bound to be talking tomorrow (Text me at your earliest convenience)

At least I’m getting that vibe (Unless I get pneumonia and die)

I’ll be on my way (Thanks for the great night)

Bye (Bye, drive safe, please)

Don’t watch that episode of ‘Breaking Bad’ without me (I won’t, I’ll save it for you)

Needless to say, as with everything social justice, the song isn’t doing very well. The comments are primarily negative, including one that called the song “cancer inducing levels of Cringe.”

As of this writing, the song has over 10k dislikes vs 5.5k likes.

This isn’t the only part of Christmas that the progressive left has tried to ruin. They’ve recently attacked Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as well, causing the actress who played Rudolph to speak up and correct the SJW assertions about the cartoon, as well as label them all “scrooges” for attacking a beloved classic.
