Celebs to Help Fund Planned Parenthood With Christmas Show Raising Questions on Why Taxpayers Still Have to Give Abortionists Money

Celebrities from Mandy Moore to Colin Hanks are putting on a Christmas variety hour in order to raise money for Planned Parenthood, the abortion giant that would have likely been cheering on Herod, and suggesting Mary was too poor to afford a kid.

According to NewsBusters, Moore will be bringing a whole host of actors with her, including her husband and fellow “This is Us” stars.

“Things kind of suck right now. So, let’s try and make them not suck,” the show description read. “Let’s have a fun night and get into the holiday spirit for a great cause at Feliz Navipod’s Feliz Navidad Variety Show. A night of comedy and music benefiting Planned Parenthood. PLUS, free Christmas treats!”

I find it odd that celebrities are helping Planned Parenthood celebrate a day where a kid actually survived, but that’s beside the point. The point here is that this is yet another drop in the ever-filling bucket of reasons why we as taxpayers do not need to support Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood currently rakes in over $500 million a year in taxpayer money. On top of that, we keep hearing story after story of celebrities rallying together in favor of Planned Parenthood. Outside of the taxpayer funding, Planned Parenthood rakes in $127 million annually, according to then Rep. Jason Chaffetz in 2015.

“Planned Parenthood has annual revenues of $127 million more than their expenses,” said Chaffetz. “They were sending money overseas, they were spending money and giving it political organizations, they have a lot of shared services—I think these are legitimate questions as we look at the finances of an organization that is structured as a non-profit.

“Why do we send money to an organization where the revenues exceed expenses by $127 million dollars annually?” he asked. “It doesn’t sound like an organization that needs to be supplemented by taxpayer dollars.”

Planned Parenthood is not an organization that needs the extra dough. It doesn’t perform the same level of medical care that basic clinics do, and there are way less Planned Parenthood clinics than there are basic clinics by a margin of 20 to 1.

So between the celebrity support, the lack of clinics that have a lack of services…why are we funding them at all? Why not let the left, who hold the operation up as some sort of holy temple in their “progressive” religion, hold it up themselves?
