According to The Hill, Trump told reporters that it was important that a Democrat does not take the seat Moore is running for:

President Trump on Tuesday appeared to throw his support behind Roy Moore, despite allegations of sexual misconduct lodged against the Republican Alabama Senate candidate.

“We don’t need a liberal Democrat in the seat,” Trump told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House.

“He denies it. He totally denies it,” Trump said of the accusations against Moore, noting the alleged incidents took place around 40 years ago.

Trump spoke before departing for Florida, where he will spend Thanksgiving.

Moore has been asked by many different Republicans to bow out in the face of the allegations, yet Moore has maintained his innocence.

UPDATE: Trump has said he’ll consider supporting Moore as soon as next week.
