While I don't expect many people reading this article to be purveyors of the legacy media, most are probably on social media. That means they see the clips of Democrats appearing on the broadcast networks, MSNBC, and the like, and if they are perceptive, they've probably noticed something. Namely, that certain former "fresh faces" of the Democratic Party aren't so fresh anymore.
For context, it's been weeks since there's been an article on RedState covering something Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said. That would have been unheard of a few years ago, but guess who has had five articles written about her since then? That would be Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).

If it feels like Crockett is everywhere, that's because she seemingly is. She's been all over the place, giving multiple interviews a week, and when she's not saying something crazy on a left-wing network, she's grandstanding in a hearing to produce viral clips (usually for all the wrong reasons). As a Republican, I'm all for it. If I were a Democrat, I'd be less than thrilled.
That brings me to Crockett's latest outburst in which she called President Donald Trump an "enemy of the state" and claimed he was "occupying the White House."

CROCKETT: So, unfortunately, we have someone that is occupying the White House, and as far as I'm concerned, he is an enemy to the United States. He swore an oath just like the rest of us, but right now, when you are literally putting us at risk all cause of what, because you want to convince your followers that you should be a dictator too, that you should never leave the White House because you don't believe that elections should take place. I don't really understand what's going on, and I don't know what it's going to take to get people to wake up.
I'll give Crockett this. She is being completely honest when she says, "I don't really understand what's going on." To say she is intellectually vapid and completely out of touch with the politics of normal Americans is the understatement of the century. I don't think I need to explain how Trump is not "occupying the White House," given that he won the last presidential election. The rest is typical left-wing tripe that we've all heard before. Trump is a dictator! Trump wants to cancel elections! Trump loves Putin!
I find Crockett's mention of Trump's "oath" to be especially funny. Given that she's speaking about U.S. support for Ukraine in this clip, which part of the oath dictates that? And how is any decision over aid to Ukraine putting "us at risk?" There are a lot of arguments for taking steps to stop Russia's aggression. Jasmine Crockett being put in personal danger isn't one of them.
What I find incredible, though, is just how engrained this kind of rhetoric as become within the Democratic Party. There has been zero introspection following their shellacking in the 2024 election. On the contrary, instead of saner members of the party taking more leading roles, there is now a fight between the most far-left radicals on who will get the most camera time. Again, that's great for the Republican Party. Not so much Democrats.
To summarize, Crockett clearly has higher political ambitions, and she's shoving Ocasio-Cortez aside to take the mantle of the party's chief lunatic. Is the Texas congresswoman setting up a run for president in 2028? All signs point to yes.
