As I write this, President Donald Trump is just minutes away from giving his first congressional address since beginning his second term, and MSNBC has already started its predictable meltdown. Hosts and Democrat politicians alike clutched their pearls and did their best to soothe their battered egos.
LIVE BLOG: President Trump Set to 'Tell it Like It Is' to Congress
Nicole Wallace, in a rant that can only be described as nuclear level cope, proclaimed, "Trumpism is, today, more toxic than it's been in nine years."

WALLACE: What's so interesting is whatever image we first put up when we show that room, this is a room full of Republicans who were told today to stop meeting with their own constituents because Trumpism is, right now, today, more toxic than it's ever been. More toxic than it was after January 6th. They didn't stop meeting with their constituents after January 6th. More toxic than it was after the first impeachment. They didn't stop having town halls after Trump was first impeached for withholding congressionally-approved military (inaudible). They didn't stop meeting with their constituents at any point during the first Trump presidency. They were told today to stop having in-person townhalls because Trumpism is, today, more toxic than it's been in nine years.
The word delusional comes to mind when watching that clip. Not only did Trump just win the presidential election and the popular vote a few months ago, but current polling shows he is enjoying a positive approval rating, something that he never could garner during his first term. Contrary to Wallace's assertion, it is not an exaggeration to say that "Trumpism" is more popular than it's been in nine years.
What she's doing is taking a report completely out of context and trying to project her political fantasies onto it. Namely, this idea that Trump's actions are broadly disliked by the American people, specifically the firing of federal workers and the crackdown at the Southern Border. The reason Republicans are backing away from town halls, though, is not because their "constituents" hate "Trumpism." It's because town halls are being hijacked by paid left-wing agitators, sometimes not even from the district they are appearing in.
Does anyone really believe most Americans are deeply disturbed by the firing of federal workers who were being paid by their tax dollars? I mean, really?
Just turned MSNBC for the first time since the election... so far it's been "THINK ABOUT THOSE POOR FEDERAL WORKERS" in every segment

Offering another example of unhinged lunacy, MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell, a particularly unhinged member of their primetime lineup, had on Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT). The Democrat proceeded to lose his mind, claiming that "we are at risk of losing our democracy."
Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, dramatic as always, on MSNBC:

It genuinely blows my mind that Democrats are tripling down on this. They made that their cry throughout Trump's first term. Then they repeated it ad nauseam throughout Joe Biden's term regarding Republicans in Congress. Now, they are back with the same talking point again during Trump's second term. Everything Democrats don't like is a "threat to democracy!" It's a phrase that no longer has any meaning whatsoever, especially since Trump, you know, won the last democratic election.
You'd think Democrats could find some popular issues to try to regain their footing with. Instead, they are going back to the "democracy" well while trying to make federal workers sympathetic figures. Oh yeah, and they are re-upping the trans insanity and calling Trump's border enforcement "xenophobic." What a winning strategy, right?
I can't only imagine how deranged MSNBC is going to be after Trump wraps up his speech. Grab some popcorn because I suspect it's going to be hilarious.
