Two types of Democrats exist right now. Those who recognize something went very wrong over the last four years and want to fix it, and those who want to double down on excuses and continue to call Donald Trump names. Unfortunately for their future electoral prospects, the latter seems to be the majority.
Enter CNN, whose roundtables have become more and more unhinged following the decisive defeat of Kamala Harris by Donald Trump. Luckily, if for no other reason than our entertainment value alone, one man is holding the line: Scott Jennings.

On Thursday evening, he went up against Pete Dominick, a "comedian" who has no business commenting on politics, and the results were explosive. Get ready to see a total meltdown.
Scott Jennings is just toying with the libs at this point.

Make this dude press secretary and don’t think another second about it.

JENNINGS: If you look at the arc of the Biden presidency, he was in really good shape until August of 2021, he went under 40, she went under 40, and they really lived there until the end of the presidency. He's still there.
DOMINICK: Why? Why?!
JENNINGS: Because he ran, and he told us the adults were back in charge, and that was the opposite of that...
DOMINICK: And they were because Donald Trump is a child!
JENNINGS: ...And you know what else? You know what else? The fact that they wouldn't give these 13 servicemembers families the time of day...
DOMINICK: But Bull**** dude, Bull...I'm sorry, I'm sorry, (crosstalk) but Donald Trump hates veterans. He called them suckers and losers. He did. He absolutely despises...He has his whole life, he has his entire life.
JENNINGS: I know you're super emotional...
DOMINICK: Of course, I am, I'm terrified!
JENNINGS: I'm telling you the political reality is that when they made that decision...
DOMINICK: It doesn't matter! What you don't admit is that Donald Trump hates veterans! You don't admit it! You deny a man chief John Kelly, a marine, you deny, you say he lied
JENNINGS: You're still campaigning. It's over. You're still campaigning.
DOMINICK: It's not over, it'll never be over. It'll never be over! You wish!
For clarity, it is, in fact, over.
But I want to stop here because it's time to debunk something once and for all. John Kelly, who was referred to as "chief" there for some reason," has never confirmed the "suckers and losers" claim. That has become a prevalent lie in left-wing circles because CNN's Jake Tapper falsely said Kelly had "confirmed" it to him. Yet, when you read the actual quote provided to Tapper, it's clear Kelly did not ever say he heard those words come out of Donald Trump's mouth.
I'll admit to having never looked into the claim that "John Kelly confirmed Trump's suckers and losers quote." I figured Kelly had said "he said it."

Apparently, he didn't, and Jake Tapper just made up that framing out of whole cloth.
Kelly never said, "I heard him say that." pic.twitter.com/cnAkoZ6ZXB
When you read Kelly's quote, all he's doing is regurgitating headlines. He never says he heard Donald Trump say "suckers and losers." Meanwhile, various former officials, including some who are openly anti-Trump now, have gone on record saying it didn't happen.
So while Jennings is trying to calmly explain the political realities of Joe Biden's presidency, this clown only has one card to keep playing: repeating a debunked hoax started by the dumpster fire that is The Atlantic.
Let's continue because Dominick doesn't get any better when another analyst, presumably a Democrat, steps in to back up what Jennings is saying.
JENNINGS: The political reality is when they made that decision, and everyone realized, oh my gosh, these aren't the competent adults that we were promised...
DOMINICK: Oh yeah, Donald Trump is. Right.
JENNINGS: And then when you pile on top of it the decisions that made inflation worse, it was a compounding interest of political crap over time that they could never get out of, and that's how she lost.
HUGHES: There was a bipartisan consensus to get out of Afghanistan. That wasn't the point.
DOMINICK: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was Trump's decision to get out...
HUGHES: No, no, no, hold on. It was the implementation It was the fact that they took out our soldiers first instead of last, which you think would be common sense. Like you said, we thought the adults were back in the room. That's why people voted for Biden. A return to normalcy. A return to competence. He's a lifelong public servant. We thought we were going to get normal, we're gonna get competent...
DOMINICK: We did, (crosstalk), we did, and the veteran's community
HUGHES: Afghanistan doesn't signal that.
DOMINICK: The war in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq, the Republican policies that led to those wars, the idea that Joe Biden made the final difficult decision, and his administration, and his military leaders. I mean, you guys live on the tippy-top of bull**** mountain if you actually think that so many think that the pullout of Afghanistan was the pivot point. Are you kidding me?
JENNINGS: Well, I can read a chart, and I can read a poll. I guess you can't, but the reality is when he made that decision...
DOMINICK: Ugh, you're petty insults are so weak dude. Like, I don't even understand if you hear yourself talking. You can laugh all you want, but like, "I can't read a chart," it's so hacky, it's so uninteresting.
You've gotta love that Dominick gets offended at the end, claiming Jennings is lobbing "petty insults" by noting he's ignoring empirical data right after he just told Jennings and Hughes they live on the "tippy-top of bull**** mountain." Left-wingers wouldn't know what to do if they couldn't project.
The reality is, despite Dominick's lashing out, that Afghanistan withdrawal was the "pivot point" for "so many" Americans. That's not debatable. It was a disgraceful show of leadership and competence, and the collapse of Biden's presidency directly preceded it. To hear someone argue otherwise is mind-numbing. By the way, while Dominick claims the decision was also made by the "military leaders," numerous reports and even congressional testimony have shown that Biden went against the advice of his military leaders, apparently obsessed with getting to take a victory lap on 9/11 by completing the withdrawal.
But if I could wrap this piece up into one statement, it'd be that it's time to make Scott Jennings press secretary. He has the perfect temperament for the job and has put hundreds of hours on tape showing he can brawl with the best of them. Nothing drives liberals more crazy than when you calmly dismantle them and laugh. Give this man the job.
