Katie Porter and ABC News Respond to Murder of Laken Riley in Unbelievably Disgusting Fashion

The murder of Laken Riley, a student at the University of Georgia, by a Venezuelan illegal immigrant has captured the nation's attention, representing yet another tragedy caused by Joe Biden's border policies.

Riley was killed while jogging, a detail that left several news outlets blaming her choice of exercise for her death instead of the person who killed her. Here's how ABC News chose to spin the situation.

It's cliche at this point to say you don't hate the press enough, but you really don't hate the press enough. Mainstream journalists are so committed to supporting illegal immigration that they will pretend jogging is at fault instead of just saying that the border crisis is leading to innocent people being murdered. Imagine being a family member of Riley and having to see news outlets doing everything to avoid implicating the person and policies that killed her.

It's disgusting, but leave it to Katie Porter, who allegedly once poured hot mashed potatoes on her ex-husband's head, to go a step further. While speaking to Erin Burnett on CNN, Porter had the sheer audacity to proclaim that Riley's death should not affect America's immigration policies.

PORTER: Well, I think when a horrible tragedy like this happens, I think whenever we're dealing with violent crime, there's a sense of outrage, of sadness, of loss, but I think the important thing to focus on is any one instance shouldn't shape our overall immigration policy.

It's not possible to make me like Porter less given I already have a rock-bottom opinion of her, but she's giving it the old college try. On one hand, I've already used the descriptor sociopathic once this week to describe a Democrat. On the other hand, is it my fault if so many of them demonstrate those tendencies? If the shoe fits, and it fits Porter perfectly.

To be able to sit there and smirk on CNN, dismissing the death of an innocent woman concerning the immigration policies that led to it, takes a special kind of emptiness. It's also wildly hypocritical. I seem to remember Porter and essentially every other Democrat having a far different opinion about one instance affecting broader policy when it came to the death of George Floyd.

Porter even co-sponsored a bill named after Floyd that sought to completely revamp policing in the United States. In other words, when police kill an unarmed black man, an incredibly rare occurrence in context, that's justification to overhaul the criminal justice system. When an illegal immigrant kills or harms someone, a not-so-rare occurrence, no changes to the immigration system are needed.

In a country that hadn't lost its mind, Porter would be disqualified by voters from holding office. No one who would look Americans in the eye and tell them their deaths don't matter in the face of unchecked illegal immigration should be anywhere near power.
