Incredible: John Fetterman Pays George Santos to Troll Bob Menendez Because Everything Is Insane

Remember joking in 2020 that things couldn't possibly get crazier? Then we all made the same joke in 2021 and 2022. Rest assured, though, politicians will always find a way to escalate the absurdity. Sometimes that's a bad thing, but sometimes it's just genuinely funny.

Enter Sen. John Fetterman, who has been on a bit of a rampage lately against the far left for reasons that aren't immediately clear. He's drawn sharp criticism for his staunch pro-Israel stance. His response was to troll pro-Hamas protesters as they were getting arrested outside the Capitol Building. Yes, that's a thing that actually happened

Fetterman may have painted his trolling masterpiece on Monday, though, and he used George Santos, who was recently expelled from Congress, to do it.

Santos telling Bob Menendez to stand strong, as if the Democrat isn't a long-proven corrupt individual who has been accused of abusing underaged girls, is just perfect. Apparently, for some on the right, there are no moral limitations whatsoever. Is Menendez getting the clamps because he went against the Biden administration on the nation's Iran policy? That's possible, though likely not the only reason. Is Menendez still guilty of accepting bribes? I'd bet my house on it.

Regardless, Santos' message is not the best part of that video. What makes it so great is the watermark at the end. It reads "Cameo," which is an app where users can connect with "celebrities" in order to pay them for personalized videos. Apparently, according to reports, Santos joined the platform to sell himself for $150 a pop. I would assume that's the help to pay his legal bills.

So Fetterman paid Santos, contributing to the expelled congressman's defense, to make a video supportive of Menendez in order to troll the disgraced senator into resigning as he also faces criminal charges. You can't make this stuff up. It's the epitome of politics in 2023. Nothing matters, but boy is it all entertaining.

I always want to be cautious writing articles about Fetterman because, at the end of the day, he's still a cognitively challenged man who shouldn't be in the U.S. Senate. Don't take this as an endorsement of him or his broader positions (though, he's right about Israel and Menendez). With that said, we might as well have a little fun along the way because it looks like he's going to be there for a while.
