Ted Cruz Slaps Joe Biden Around After the Latter Decides to Become Vladimir Putin's Puppet

For the last five years, we’ve had non-stop accusations that former President Donald Trump was a foreign agent working at the behest of Vladimir Putin and Russia. In some cases, people meant that rhetorically while in others, they were dumb enough to mean it literally.

Regardless, you know what Donald Trump didn’t do? He didn’t green-light a pipeline that looks to give Russia massive control over Eastern Europe and Germany. You know who has done that? Joe Biden has done that because, in the end, he’s far softer on Russia than the media ever accused Trump of being.

Ted Cruz responded to the news of the sanctions being lifted that will allow the Nordstream 2 pipeline to finish construction. Words were not minced.

Hat tip to Breitbart for the transcript.

CRUZ: Sadly, I can’t shed a lot of light on it. It’s absolutely crazy what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are doing.

On day one in office, Joe Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline. He destroyed 11,000 jobs, high-paying jobs, including 8,000 union jobs.

Then Biden sat by and allowed Russian hackers to hack the Colonial Pipelines, producing gas lines up and down the Eastern Seaboard. He did nothing to defend it. He sat by while they paid a ransom to hackers.

And now, his reward to Russia for Russian hackers shutting down a major infrastructure pipeline in the Eastern Seaboard, is today he signed a waiver basically greenlighting the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, a pipeline from Russia to Germany.

Congress has twice passed bipartisan sanctions to stop this pipeline. I authored those sanctions. We stopped it. For a year, it was shut down. It was a piece of metal at the bottom of the ocean. Putin began rebuilding the pipeline right after Biden was elected. Today, he issued a waiver.

And basically what Joe Biden has decided is pipelines in America, bad. Jobs in America, bad. Pipelines in Russia, good. Jobs in Russia, good.

And this is exactly backward. It is asinine. And four months into it, Joe Biden is crawling in bed with Putin and Russia and the enemies of America. It doesn’t make any sense.

Opposition to Nordstream 2 had previously been bipartisan. That’s how the sanctions passed two times prior in the first place. Obviously, enriching Russia while at the same time spending billions on NATO is a counter-productive strategy, yet that’s exactly what the Biden administration is doing. Further, if Germany wants to be defended from Russia, they have no business getting into bed with Russia for their energy needs. That would seem like absolute common sense, but rarely does anything in Europe make sense these days.

Cruz is correct in pointing out how asinine all this is. He’s also correct to question Biden’s motives. Why is the current president so eager to nonsensically remove sanctions from a figure he literally accused of murder a few months ago? Is Putin not still bad? What changed? Someone should probably look into that along with why Biden is lifting sanctions on Iran as well. After all, we know Biden’s son was getting millions from a Russian oligarch in Moscow. Of course, no one in the DOJ seems keen to figure out why.

Our current foreign policy has reverted to the Obama-doctrine and disastrous results have already followed and will continue to follow unless something changes. We are have seen what coddling Iran and funding the Palestinians has done to the Middle East in the last several months. An emboldened Russia will just lash out further as well. Heck, I’m old enough to remember when “protecting” Ukraine was enough to impeach a president over. Now, Biden is neutering the ostensible ally in favor of empowering Russia. Again, what’s the motive here?

But the real irony here remains the sudden shift we’ve seen from Democrats. They could not shut up about the dangers of Russia when Trump was president, but they sit silently while Biden does more to help Russia than Trump’s meaningless quips ever did. Where’s the outrage? Where are the investigations? We know the answer to that. It was never about Russia. It was simply about attacking Republicans.
