Texas Democrat Says Hold My Beer on Racist Attacks of Tim Scott, Calls to Resign Begin

Sen. Tim Scott caused a great triggering among the left last week, particularly among the more woke among them. That happened because Scott had the gall to say that America is not a racist country. Well, that and the fact that he was giving a rebuttal to Joe Biden in the first place.

As RedState covered, the racist attacks began apace, from Twitter allowing “Uncle Tim” to trend to more direct charges of being a race-traitor to people like Joy Behar lecturing a black man on his lack of understanding of racism.

A Texas Democrat politician named Gary O’Connor decided to say “hold my beer,” though. Now, he’s facing calls to resign.

If you are wondering what O’Connor said, he had the brilliant idea of accusing Scott of being an “oreo” for daring to have opinions counter to what the left-wing racial grifters demand he have. Get it? Because Scott is supposedly black on the outside, but a white supremacist on the inside.

That’s just abject racism on display.

A Texas Democratic official is facing calls to step down from his role after he called Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., a racial slur.

“I had hoped that Scott might show some common sense, but it seems clear he is little more than an oreo with no real principles,” Lamar County Democratic Party chair Gary O’Connor wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post, referring to Scott’s rebuttal to President Biden’s Congressional address on Wednesday.

Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas — whose district includes Lamar County located in Northeast Texas — eviscerated O’Connor for his comment on Friday. In a press release, Fallon called the slur — which refers to a Black person who is perceived as acting White —  “unforgivable.”

“Gary O’Connor’s comment against Senator Tim Scott is abhorrent, insulting, and unforgivable. Both he and the entire Lamar County Democratic Party should be ashamed of this racist behavior,” said Fallon.

I’ll go ahead and spoil it for you. There is no way, in my opinion, that this guy resigns nor that the Democrat party sanctions him for his comments. Consequences for racism are not a thing when it comes to those who proclaim themselves as woke. They receive the magic protector shield of social justice even though they are the largest, most discriminatory demographic with any power in this country.

Rep. Pat Fallon also urged the NAACP to condemn O’Connor’s racism, but that likely won’t happen either. That organization’s current existence is predicated on pushing Democrat narratives, not actually standing in the gap against racism from all corners.

While Democrats squeal about racism constantly, knowing it is an effective means of seizing more and more power, they and their far-left, woke base continue to perpetuate racist attacks. Scott is an individual who is allowed to think as he sees fit. He is not required to bow before the predominant left-wing dogma in order to be black. That an elected official would suggest such is disgusting, but it’s not at all surprising.

I’ll end by suggesting that if this had been a Republican, no matter how local of an official, making a racist attack on a Democrat, it would be national news. As it stands, this won’t get a mention outside of Fox News and right-leaning outlets. But the next time some random college student makes an OK sign, CNN will be on the case.
