Oh, what a Wednesday it was on Capitol Hill as the former Chief Medical Adviser to Joe Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, put in a stupendously pathetic performance at the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee’s hearing on the origins of COVID and the doctor’s draconian actions during the pandemic.
He pleaded the Fifth Amendment anywhere from 80 to 111 times, depending on who you ask. This from the man who once proclaimed, “I represent science.”
Many observers were disappointed that he appeared to face no consequences — but that doesn’t mean some aren’t still coming. Chairman Rand Paul (R-KY) has already scheduled a vote to hold Fibbin’ Fauci in contempt of Congress.
Although numerous senators pounded the face of the pandemic for his refusal to answer questions and for his harming the lives of millions of Americans, Fauci wasn’t the only one who came out of the day looking like a fool.
Connecticut Sen. “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal (D) also got laid to waste by Paul when he whined that the proceedings were “cruel” and seemed to be “a part of a continuing vendetta against a single individual.”
“And unfortunately, I think this is what we are seeing here today,” Blumenthal moaned. “America deserves better.”
The exchange happened following Paul’s ejection of Fauci’s lawyer, who kept interrupting despite not being recognized by the committee. The Kentucky senator had a legal lesson for Blumenthal:

“In no courtroom in America can you have your witness plead the Fifth Amendment and then your attorney gets to testify. That's what that letter is. The attorney is complaining and testifying saying you didn't do the prosecution is unfair. You don't get to do that. That's one thing you gave up when you take the Fifth Amendment. I won't give you any information. You don't get to put your lawyer forward to justify it. You can't come and testify. He was not invited to testify and he was out of order and it was appropriate to have him ejected.”
That’s about the size of it.

Blumenthal also showed his true colors as a partisan groupie when he tried to defend “Fifth Amendment” Fauci. Despite the diaries, the mountains of evidence that he misled the public on the origins of COVID and so many other things, despite his admitted fixation with his celebrity status, despite his refusal to even answer basic questions, the Democrat lawmaker still had high praise for him:

“Put aside all the flowery rhetoric that we hear in the United States Senate,” Blumenthal implored. “Dr. Fauci has saved lives, as have public health officials in the United States and throughout the world. And today, we are demeaning and degrading their lifesaving service.”
Oh please. Even after the explosive revelations of the diaries, you’re still playing the “St. Fauci” narrative, Dick?
Fauci wasn’t the only one who looked like an utter fool today.
