Contemptible: Rand Paul Schedules Vote to Hold Fifth Amendment-Loving Fauci Accountable

The former Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, put on a despicable performance for the ages Wednesday as he testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

“Testify” is arguably the wrong word, however, as instead of explaining why he did what he did and hurt so many families and ruined lives with his misinformation and attempts to lockdown the country, he simply invoked the Fifth Amendment over and over… and over again.

In fact, he did so an estimated 111 times, by some observers' count.

But Fauci’s nemesis, Chairman Rand Paul (R-KY), is not just going to walk away — he’s already moving ahead on contempt of Congress charges.

🚨 BREAKING: Rand Paul announces the committee will be voting to hold Dr. Fauci in CONTEMPT OF CONGRESS after Fauci invokes the fifth amendment over 80 times

This carries up to a YEAR of prison time.

Paul argues that Fauci does NOT have a fifth amendment right against self-incrimination, as Biden's autopen pardon protects him. Therefore, Fauci can be COMPELLED to answer questions.

PAUL: "My question was limited to the period of your pardon only. I find your objection UNSUPPORTED and DIRECT YOU to answer the question."

FAUCI: *pleads fifth*

PAUL: "Because you refuse to answer citing a privilege unsupported because of your pardon and after being denied to do so this committee has scheduled a vote next week on a resolution certifying your contempt"

Paul is exploring whether Biden’s preemptive pardon of the fame-hungry doctor protects him in this instance. He thinks not: "We're going to have a vote next week on contempt. I think there's another legal question that the courts may have to decide upon," he told Fauci. "And that is whether or not a presidential pardon offers you complete immunity."

Hawley's Hilarious Exchange With Fauci Ends With One Brutal Question

Paul had subpoenaed Fauci on the origins of the COVID virus and the government’s handling of the pandemic after the usually loquacious gadfly suddenly went quiet and refused to appear voluntarily. The senator told reporters after the hearing that he would do everything in his power to hold the disgraced doctor accountable:

Paul says the theory has never been tested before:

There is an argument — this has probably never been tested legally — if you've been granted complete immunity (we didn't grant immunity, [Former] President Biden granted him complete immunity).

With a grant of immunity, do you still need Fifth Amendment protections, or do they apply?

All he had to do today was tell the truth. If he testified and told the truth — even if he admitted to destroying thousands of records, which we think happened — there's no penalty attached.

It would just be the truth.

Asking Fauci to tell the truth… That’s like asking a mugger to give you your watch back. Don’t bet on it.

We’ll see if Paul’s gambit goes anywhere. He’s likely to see strong opposition from Democrats, seeing as they’ve been covering for Fauci for years. For so many shattered families, however, it would bring some measure of closure.

Editor's Note: Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci, and Co.’s response to COVID was one of the biggest unconstitutional power grabs of all time.
