As I wrote earlier Monday, there’s a different vibe in California than I’ve ever felt in the three-plus decades I’ve lived here. People on all sides of the political spectrum are watching the state slide into a decrepit shell of itself, and many of them want change.
But will it be enough? There are still too many dyed-in-the-wool leftists in the Golden State who will keep on voting for extreme progressive policies no matter how bad the quality of life becomes. It assuages their liberal guilt and convinces them they are somehow virtuous. Meanwhile, the state has become so rigged in favor of the Democrats after years of one-party totalitarian rule, and the unions decide much of what goes down politically.
But so far, LA Mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has fought through all that to remain at or near the top of the polls, and he’s not going down without a fight. His campaign released one more devastating video Sunday, and although it’s short, it embodies everything that’s gone wrong here and has quickly racked up over a million views.
The nine-second clip says it all:
I don't even need to make campaign ads anymore. Karen and Nithya just keep making them for me. pic.twitter.com/Ey724YZv51

He kept up his relentless social media blitz, calling out his opponents, incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and democratic socialist City Councilwoman Nithya Raman:
Wow. Somebody just died on Karen's livestream. LAPD is setting up a white tent to cover the body. This isn't a reality show, it's a horror film. Please pray for this city. https://t.co/WRecu0953X pic.twitter.com/7N9J8OCGoC

Pratt's secret weapon has been forcing people to look around and admit what they're actually seeing on the streets of Tinseltown.
But viral AI videos made by independent creators have also been widely shared and fostered excitement among his supporters, adding to his momentum. Pratt actually wishes he hadn’t shared them on social media because his own campaign ads do not use artificial intelligence, and by spreading them, he thinks he gave his competitors an opening to attack:
Social media has played a key role in Pratt gaining traction ahead of Tuesday’s primary, but the aspiring politician did acknowledge he “made a mistake” in his campaign that he wishes he could go back and fix.
“If I could go back in time, I would never have reposted an AI ad,” Pratt told the Wall Street Journal.
Pratt has shared several now viral AI videos ads throughout the course of his campaign, including one that featured him transforming into a Batman-like superhero taking on Bass who appeared looking like the Joker.
The mayoral candidate told the outlet he regrets reposting the videos, lamenting that it’s “given my opponents a great way to attack me, which they have not had too many other opportunities to do.”
I personally love them:

Although he wishes he could take his retweets back, he continued on the offensive:
”If you vote for me, it’s just going to be a mandate to change. Enough is enough. I’m the one with compassion, no matter what these people tell you.
”I don’t want people dying on the streets, I don’t want our tax money going to needles, I want to get them in treatment, I want to get them help, I want to help their dogs.”
”If we change LA we will change the whole state. We can’t sit back.
From your lips to God’s ears.
