Bass, Raman Left Sputtering As Spencer Pratt Brings Savage 'Reality' Star Power to LA Mayoral Debate
Pratt brought reality to the debate, while Nithya and Karen just seemed to pretend that all was cool and extensive mayhem hadn’t occurred on their watch. I have no idea whether he will win this race (of course, I hope he does), but whatever the outcome, he has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with.
Seattle Succumbs to Socialist Doom Loop
For now, at least, socialist doom loops are exclusively restricted to cities and states that choose to tread down the terrible road of socialism. The real nightmare scenario for Americans is a socialist doom loop at the national level, which could be more likely than most Americans realize, given the soaring popularity of socialism among America’s youth.
A sitting U.S. Representative actively working with foreign governments to undermine that policy and sustain the regime, however, surely crosses into undermining American interests. It signals to allies and adversaries that American foreign policy can be subverted from within Congress.

Bearing Arms — YouTube Channel Publishing Blatant Lies About SCOTUS and the Second Amendment
I'd hate for anyone to face criminal charges because they believed the B.S. spewed by whoever's behind this YouTube channel and decided to carry without a permit in a place where one is required.
HotAir — There Are Some Things About Liberal Technocrats I Cannot Wrap My Head Around
I have a hard time believing that Ursula von der Leyen thinks that an Islamist Europe matches her ideal social vision. So why do she and her cohort work so diligently to make it happen?
PJ Media — Thursday Essay: Say ‘Konnichiwa’ to Our New Old Best Friends
Under Takaichi, Tokyo sounds increasingly Trumpian in its willingness to defend Japan's interests in the Pacific. The strongest military alliances share strong cultural ties, and even this lover of sashimi and Ultraman didn't appreciate until very recently how strong our cultural ties are.
Alito called her dissent on the judgment utterly irresponsible. And now, after all that bellyaching from Ms. Jackson, she denied a motion to recall the Callais judgment. No justices dissented.
Twitchy — Spencer Pratt Issues a Challenge in LA Mayoral Debate That Nithya Raman Will Never Accept
Pratt busted through it consistently and repeatedly last night -- against both of his political opponents as well as his opponents on the moderator panel.

Meanwhile....
But the last two weeks have suddenly turned rough for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the Democratic Caucus. They’re facing legal setbacks on redistricting across multiple fronts, developments that have reshaped the battle for the House.
As many as 10 seats could now swing toward Republicans in a worst-case scenario for Democrats, although this all remains very fluid.
What is clear is that the Supreme Court’s decision to gut Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act and another late round of GOP redistricting have dramatically altered Democrats’ fortunes. We’re not saying Democrats won’t win the House. But the hill has gotten steeper.
You love to see it...

MORNING MUSING
It's been a minute since I was in L.A., but the L.A. I remember is not the L.A. of today. We've seen example after example of that, and it's disheartening, to say the least. You might say, "You live in Missouri, Susie — why do you give a rip about Los Angeles or California?" Well, it'd be easy not to. It would also be myopic.
It isn't that the rest of the country's fate is contingent on L.A.'s — not directly anyway. But we've seen that doom cycle rearing its ugly head over and over in our nation's cities and if there's any hope of saving them, we have to start somewhere, right?
Seems to me L.A. (and California) is/are ripe for the picking. The Palisades Fire laid bare so many of the failures (and corruption) of Democratic rule — and sparked enough anger and frustration on the part of many Angelenos that this upcoming mayoral race might just be the tipping point. I don't want to get out over my skis — maybe Spencer Pratt can't overcome the Democrat machine. Maybe the Dems will find some crafty way to forestall a Top 2 gubernatorial ticket featuring Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco.
But maybe not. There's a chance. Right now, I'm not holding my breath, but I'm rooting (and praying) for my California friends. Because if things can be turned around in L.A., then that fosters hope they can be turned around elsewhere.
