Most of us who were regular listeners of the great Rush Limbaugh often come across things in the news daily where we wonder, "What would Rush have to say about this?" One thing is for sure: Rush loved President Donald Trump, and instinctively knew that Trump was the right man at the right time in American history. I am sure I can speak for so many as well when I say that, in addition to telling it like it is, breaking the issues down in a way that would "make the complex understandable," and just plain having fun at Democrats' and the left's expense, we also learned so much in those three hours a day.
@CNN and it's NZ office @rnz_news continue to push anti trump sentiment and bias..... FFS .... Can't hate media enough https://t.co/bOOjxS5kRq

One of the most important things that Rush imparted to us is that "words mean things." He would point it out whenever the left found words or phrases they could twist to fit whatever their latest lame-brained idea or cause was. Examples like "gender-affirming care," "unhoused," or "birthing person" would be at the top of Rush's list.
Conservatives love to giggle at those ridiculous made-up words. But now, there is a more sinister reason for the left and their propaganda arm, the media, to engage in the creative (that's the nice term for it) use of words and phrases. That is the ongoing situation in Venezuela. Recently, an X video was posted by a woman who is a Venezuelan journalist, and for obvious reasons, I will not use her name. In the video, she is addressing the American media and asking that they not use certain words and phrases.
The first word she mentions is "president." She points out that Nicolás Maduro was an unelected, illegitimate president who refused to cede power to the real winner of the last election, who won in a landslide. He also went after his political opponents. Next, the Venezuelan journalist mentions "regime change." She explains the term "makes this sound like Iraq or Afghanistan to the American public." She also cautions against calling Maduro's Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, a "moderate." She goes on to say that "if she (Rodriguez) replaces Maduro, it's not an ousting, it's a reshuffling."
But if this brave, courageous woman had worked in American media for just seconds, she would know that they are using these words on purpose. Their goal is not to give the American people a clear, unbiased view of the players involved and what is going on in Venezuela - it is to make Donald Trump look bad. That is their only narrative and agenda.
The legacy media has once again been painting a negative story about what happened in Venezuela.

Their own citizens and their relatives abroad know the truth very well and are jubilant in their celebration. @News5PH @gmanews @newswatchplusph @ABSCBNNews
Do a balanced…
Do a balanced reporting.
They will continue to call Nicolás Maduro "president" because it gives the impression that Trump and his team have illegally invaded a sovereign nation and scooped up their leader for no apparent reason. They will use the term "dictator" as little as possible. It is the same reason they will continue to use the term "regime change." The same people who have insisted that Trump is a dictator are now embracing a real dictator, and they want to make him look as legitimate as possible.
As for Delcy Rodríguez, she is now the interim leader of Venezuela. Trump has demanded that she crack down on the drug trade, remove Cuban, Iranian, and other operatives hostile to the U.S., and halt the sale of oil to any American adversaries. She will also be expected to pave the way for free and fair elections, and then step aside. But for the American media, Rodríguez will remain "vice president" and a "moderate," simply carrying out a former legitimate "president's" agenda. If they think they can convincingly portray Maduro as legitimate to the American public, they'll think they can do it for her as well.
The problem: this is not the media's usual inane word games designed to make Democrats virtuous and malign those rascally Republicans. People's lives are at stake in Venezuela, and for the first time in a generation, they have a real chance at freedom. That's something the American people should be well aware of. But, as always, their "Orange man bad" agenda must come first.
Great education.

Please stop using these 3 phrases when you talk about Venezuela.
