The U.S. House has passed a three-year extension of subsidies for the Affordable Care Act (ACA), by a tally of 230-196, partly with the help of some GOP votes:

The vote was 230-196.
Seventeen Republicans crossed the aisle to vote with Dems and pass the measure on Thursday.

As Fox News' Chad Pergram reported, the vote was expected to pass on a bipartisan basis; The "coalition of lawmakers went around the Speaker to put this bill on the floor. The expired subsidies were central to the government shutdown."
Now it heads over to the U.S. Senate, where its fate is uncertain at this hour; it rejected a similar bill in December, readers might recall. The upper chamber's bipartisan group has differences already in their proposed bill, including the number of years it would cover, among other provisions.
On Wednesday, Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH), who is in that group, told reporters the House's work product is DOA:
“What the House is going to pass tomorrow will not pass in the United States Senate. It probably wouldn’t be put on the floor, because why waste floor time on something we’ve already considered?”
And while some whispers are out there that the Hyde Amendment is in play, Moreno said that's wrong:
“We don’t do federal funding for abortions. That’s a long-standing tradition, nobody’s looking to change that.”
