There's a lot of intense hand-wringing going on in political circles these days over the likelihood of Democrats taking control of at least one chamber of Congress — the House — in the midterm elections coming in November.
That would royally screw up President Trump's political agenda for the last two years of his presidency. Which, of course, is exactly why Democrats are so excited and counting on Trump Derangement Syndrome to turn out their base to elect progressive candidates in congressional districts across the country.
The party of incumbent presidents usually suffers in midterms, which become interim verdicts on their job, not the work of Congress, such as it is. The average loss of House seats is in the 20's, which would erase the Republicans' slim control at the moment.
But as Billy May used to say, Wait! There's more!
There's another handy galvanizing issue at hand for our side. And it could produce a potentially even greater high-octane turnout for conservatives. That issue is transgender rights. For inexplicable reasons, the ultra-progressive left of the Democrat Party is clinging to that nonsense as if it matters in the real world.
It flies in the face of common sense to have biologically stronger males competing against females in any sports. There is no right for men to defeat women in athletic competitions, to pummel them into submission in boxing or swimming, where male strengths are superior.
Wisely, the Olympics Committee has decided that will not be happening in future international competitions. And parents and wise politicians have risen up in this country and gotten transgender competition bans on the ballots in many states.
That's what conservatives can use to energize their political base from its traditional torporous turnouts in midterm ballotings.
How to go about doing that is the topic of this week's audio commentary, which you can hear by clicking on the flag here.
Importantly, please leave your own thoughts on this issue and the midterm dangers in the Comments section below.
This week's Sunday column dissected media criticism of President Trump that he is unpredictable. That is a handy tactic that has worked quite well for him over the years, giving him a valuable edge sometimes in the deal-making that he loves to do so much.
Democrats can't stand Trump's unpredictability because he usually leaves them holding the short end of those 80-20 polls on illegal aliens, immigration, supporting the military, etc.
I analyzed what that Trump trait really is. It's impressive and has produced an amazing amount of impressive progress for the country in Year 5 and now 6 of Trump as Commander-in-Chief. I explained that here.
The most recent audio commentary contained my thoughts on the significant population exodus from blue states like California. This is caused by Democrat governments' unquenchable thirst for increasing taxes on citizens to finance exorbitant pensions for unions and wild spending programs.
These include the high-speed railroad to nowhere project, which is consuming billions of dollars and going nowhere fast. Yet until now, Californians just keep electing Democrat super-majorities.
