At Drag Queen Story Hour, Now Small Children Can Learn Something New: How to Sexually Twerk

Yesterday, I covered a teacher in California passing out a flyer to 12-year-olds about the options of being sexually attracted to fellas, females, or to an alternative gender (here).

We’ve seen similar discussion led by teachers in elementary school.

I find that especially odd because, when I was growing up, if a male — teacher or otherwise — talked to a little girl about who she was sexually attracted to, he could end up in jail, with a black eye, or both.

I’m surprised by the skyrocketed normalizing of this newfangled combo: children and sex. Why are these two ever mixing? It’s at best unnecessary and at worst much worse.

Here’s another drop in the bawdry bucket.

You’re no doubt familiar with the Drag Queen Story Hour craze making its way across the land courtesy of public libraries. If not, see here and here.

Or better yet, check out the absolute insanity that was this — complete with rooftop snipers.

Well, here’s something new that little tykes can learn at the educational extravaganzas: how to sexually lure interested parties to their backsides.

That’s right: small children recently got a lesson in twerking.

They’ll be on their way to rap video immortality in no time.

The parents seemed good with it.

In a viral video, a man in drag who goes by the name Mama G teaches wee boys and girls in the UK how to shake that booty.

He explains:

“Most of all, Michael likes to twerk. … All you need to do is, you just need to stand with your feet sort of shoulder-width apart like so, okay? … And then you crouch down in this sort of position, so your bum’s sticking out. I hope you’re taking this all in. And then you just move your butt up and down like that. And that’s twerking.”

Parents laugh.

But not everyone’s finding it funny:

Other responses, as reported by DevonLive:

“Wholly inappropriate for children. What on earth were you thinking.”

“On what planet do you think this sexualized womanface act is appropriate for young children?”

“My children would have found this alarming and confusing, and probably have been put off books for life.”

Libraries Unlimited — which runs Devon Libraries, released a statement in the aftermath:

As a charity, we are committed to ensuring our libraries are welcoming, safe and inclusive places for all. We celebrate the arts, equality and diversity and are proud that our libraries offer a space for communities to come together and enjoy the power of words, reading and storytelling.

At Libraries Unlimited we take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously and have a safeguarding policy that is followed by all staff across the organisation.

In this case, we can also confirm that the artist involved has a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Libraries are open to all, and we hope that everyone will find something suitable for them amongst our diverse range of activity across Devon and Torbay.

Mama subsequently changed his Twitter feed to approved followers only. However, before the change — as per LifeSite News — the screenshot of a post revealed him asking children to send their email addresses.

And now Suffolk Libraries has claified: The twerk lessons were for the parents, not the small children:

Does it appear that way to you?
