Pretty much the entire developed world faces the problem of streams of "asylum seekers" and "migrants," which are the polite terms that the left applies to invading hordes from the Third World. President Donald Trump was elected to his second term in no small part to address this crisis, and he has.
Most American politicians, though, will at least pay lip service to immigration enforcement and guarding our borders. They may not mean it (see the recent, unlamented Biden administration), but they try to make appeasing noises about it, like insisting the border is closed, even when it plainly is not.
Across the Atlantic, though, the British Green Party makes no such appeasing noises. They are for a world without borders, and they are for extending Britain's generous social welfare benefits to everyone who cares to flood into the British Isles. In a recent piece at The Telegraph, columnist Brendan O'Neill has those details, and they are shocking, even if you're already accustomed to the nutbaggery of the British left.
The list of reasons not to vote for Zack Polanski’s cranky Green Party is already miles long. This is a party in revolt against the truth of biology – witness Polanski’s loopy insistence that a woman “can have a penis”.
It’s a party that would halt all new oil and gas licensing, crushing thousands of well-paying working-class jobs and hiking our energy bills ever higher. And it’s a party content to rub shoulders with iffy Islamists if it will help it climb the greasy pole to power.
Well, now we can add another reason: the party’s migration policy. It’s one of the craziest policy documents I have ever read. In a nutshell, the Greens would throw open our doors to every soul on earth. People from distant lands who’ve contributed not a penny to our public purse would be gifted the same rights as Britons. They’d have access to the NHS, to welfare benefits, and even to the voting booth. Even migrants who do not have settled status should “have the right to vote in all elections”, say the Greens.
In what insane world do Britain's Greens think this could be sustained? These policies, if the Greens were somehow able to implement them, would be the ruin of the once-Great Britain in short order; probably a matter of months. Think their illegal immigration problem is bad now? Oh, wait!
Mr. O'Neill continues:
The party outlines its long-term goal – “a world without borders”. But as we await this borderless “utopia” that no one except soppy bourgeois Leftists and globe-trotting crime lords actually wants, the Greens would implement a “fair and humane” system.
Fair for who? Not hard-working British people. Even arrivals who do not have settled status will receive “free and comprehensive” healthcare. They’ll also enjoy “access to welfare benefits”.
Boil this down and what the Greens are saying is that British workers will be forced to fund the lifestyles of foreigners.
This is the bare face of the political left, revealed, raw, for all to see. This is what they want.

It's tempting to think, well, these are British leftists. That can't happen here. Not even our nutbar left is this crazy. Or are they?
In 2018, Minnesota's Democratic Attorney General, then U.S. Representative Keith Ellison, claimed that national borders create "an injustice," and was seen wearing a t-shirt that proclaimed, in Spanish, "Yo no creo en frontera," or "I do not believe in borders." Democrat Squad members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) and Ilhan Omar (MN-05) have repeatedly called for abolishing the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) and throwing open our national borders. Examples abound.
This is why I have been saying and writing for some time now, if you want to see the ideal endgame of the American left, look at what the European left is doing. That's the goal. Britain's Greens are the nutbar fringe of the left for now, but only for now. And they have counterparts here.
