Democrats, when election integrity is on the table, always insist that there's no need for any measures (like voter ID) to make sure that noncitizens don't vote in American election, because it never happens. Well, it almost never happens. It happens, but it's very rare.
And yet, it keeps happening. The latest such incident comes to us from (yes, I know) Minnesota, where a noncitizen is facing felony charges for voting (hah) feloniously, in the 2024 election.
A man in Minnesota is facing felony charges after being accused of registering to vote and then voting in the 2024 election despite not being a citizen of the United States.
Mukeshkumar Somabhai Chaudhari, 39, was charged with perjury and a voting violation on Monday after authorities say they obtained records showing he submitted a ballot in the 2024 election after registering to vote in 2023, Fox 9 Minneapolis reported.
Authorities say that Chaudhari denied he voted at first when interviewed but later claimed he "made a mistake" and admitted to voting while also telling investigators he is not a U.S. citizen.
His immigration status is not stated, but this is Minnesota, so anything goes. His being able to obtain a driver's license would normally imply that he's in the country legally, but in Minnesota, illegal aliens can get driver's licenses under the "Driver's Licenses for All" law, signed into law in 2023 by, you guessed it, Governor Tim Walz. But, again, Chaudhari's immigration status is not known.
What is known is that he somehow was registered to vote, which would not have happened if the SAVE America Act were in place, which requires verification of citizenship to register. He was able to vote, which would not have happened if the SAVE American Act were in place, which requires prospective voters to identify themselves before casting a ballot.
How many more reasons do we need to get the SAVE America Act passed and signed by President Trump?

Minnesota Republicans were quick to pounce.
State Rep. Pam Altendorf, a Republican, called out Minnesota Democrats in a post on X for three specific actions that she said have weakened election safeguards and invited scrutiny: loosening election laws in 2023 and 2024, issuing driver’s licenses to noncitizens, and creating a 46-day voting season during which the state mass-mailed voter registration cards and absentee ballots.
In other words, Minnesota's election integrity has holes you could drive an Iowa-class battleship through. But, according to Democrats, these things are never a problem until they are. The numbers shouldn't matter, though. If even one person votes illegally, it's the same as if a million people vote illegally. Why? Here's why, and I'm going to tell you: There is a matter of principle involved. Principles are pretty strict; if a thing is wrong, its wrongness is not related to scale. If it's wrong for people to paint their noses blue, then it's wrong whether everyone in town paints their noses blue, or just your nutty neighbor Kaden Quincy-Scuzzlefoot does it. If voting illegally is wrong, it's wrong no matter whether it's one person doing it, or thousands.
The SAVE Act has to get passed and signed into law, or this kind of thing will just keep happening. Leader Thune, Speaker Johnson, gird your loins and get this done.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
