Putting this in the counting your chickens before they hatch but it is easier than talking about actual stuff being he gets confused easily bucket, Joe Biden has thoughts on a running mate.

You know that we love to hear Joe’s thoughts.

Former Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday he would consider former presidential candidates Beto O’Rourke and Julián Castro to be a running mate or a member of his Cabinet if he is elected president.

O’Rourke, a former Texas congressman and high-profile 2018 Senate candidate, was an early frontrunner for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination before fading into the field’s lower tiers and dropping out in early November. Castro, the former secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama, ended his yearlong campaign earlier this month after struggling in the polls. Biden said he has spoken with both of them since their exits.

“My plea to both of them is that they stay engaged,” Biden said Wednesday in an interview with The Dallas Morning News. “They are talented, talented people.”

Whoa whoa whoa there Joe. Let’s slow down on buttering that political butt-kissing roll so soon.

No one is calling Robert Francis O Rourke talented that knows him. He spent six years in the House of Representatives wandering the halls looking for the cafeteria and the El Paso city council is still telling funny stories about is “time” there.

Also while I’m not sure of it I’m thinking that Biden thinks Julian Castor is actually Fidel and ponders that it would be great to have someone who has ruled Cuba for a number of years as a backup.

The dirty Lil secret here though is there is really only one qualification that Old White Joe has for his pick as Vice President if he were to make it to the nomination. If he does not meet this standard his party will fracture even with someone as polarizing as Trump as the opposition and Robert Francis and Julian don’t make the cut.

Biden needs to pick a minority woman. End. Of. Story.

The politics of pettiness will only allow this is to be acceptable and the modern-day Democratic party is full of this. If and that is still a BIG if, Biden wins the Democratic nomination and gets to take on Trump he will, of course, make noise about people like the guys mentioned above and some others but he will only be allowed to pick a woman that is a minority. That means Sen. Amy Klobuchar does not make the cut.

Also, Elizabeth Warren misses by a tipi length or 100.

Unfortunately for good ole Joe even if he finds someone that is uber qualified and thinks would be awesome as his number two if they don’t meet the above-limited requirement he won’t be able to offer that position to them. That is the price one must pay to be a Democrat today where how people feel is much more important than competence or qualifications. Of course, there are a ton of minority women that are competent and could fit the bill but would Nikki Haley or Condoleezza Rice agree to run with crazy Uncle Joe.

God knows we need someone solid in the #2 spot if he were to win the Presidency of the United States.
