Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the senior senator from New York and current Senate minority leader who certainly knows a thing or two about dangerous rhetoric and political threats, released a statement Monday afternoon alleging that "multiple bomb threats" has been made to three of his New York offices.
According to Schumer, law enforcement officials informed him that his offices in Rochester, Binghamton, and Long Island had been targeted with bomb threats from an email account with, conveniently enough, references to MAGA and the "rigged" 2020 presidential election.

Everyone is safe, and I am grateful for their quick and professional response to ensure these offices remain safe and secure for all New Yorkers."
“As I have said many times, these kinds of violent threats have absolutely no place in our political system. No one—no public servant, no staff member, no constituent, no citizen—should ever be targeted for simply doing their job.”
An anonymous person with knowledge of the situation has reportedly confirmed that Suffolk County police responded to Schumer's Long Island office, but details of the alleged threats were not confirmed by law enforcement.
A few questions spring to mind when reading Schumer's statement. The email subject line was "MAGA"? Come on. And the email address itself alleged the "2020 election was rigged"? Was there a noose and a Subway sandwich involved, too? Was the "This is MAGA country" email handle already taken? Are we certain that Donald Trump himself didn't make the threats?
It should be pointed out that the last time we covered violence at a Chuck Schumer office was just a few months back when a crowd of seething pro-Hamas radicals, also known as his left-most constituents, stormed his New York City outpost wearing "Let Gaza Live" and "Jews Say Let Gaza Live" t-shirts. So, there's precedent.

Of course, all usual disclaimers apply here: there's no room for violent political threats in civil society; innocent people could get hurt; we need to cool the heated rhetoric.
Yes, however ...
It's pretty rich to see Chuck Schumer, of all people, decrying "violent threats" being made against public servants when he has perfect the craft. Conservatives won't soon forget when Schumer made a direct threat to Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, telling them they'd "pay the price" for their decisions on an abortion-related case.
A video of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer telling Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh that he would "pay the price" for rolling back abortion rights has resurfaced amid an arrest outside the justice's home in Maryland.
Back in March 2020, Schumer made a speech outside the Supreme Court as justices heard a case about a Louisiana abortion law, warning Kavanaugh and Justice Neil Gorsuch—former President Donald Trump's other appointee at the time—that they could face dire consequences for their "awful decisions."
"I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price," Schumer, who was then minority leader, said at the time. "You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."
A man was later arrested near Kavanaugh's home with all the tools necessary to assassinate the Justice.
News of the supposed threats on Schumer's offices comes, ironically, on the very same day that members of Congress started receiving a $20,000 monthly stipend to use on private security while not in Washington, D.C.
The U.S. Capitol Police, which provides security for Congress members while they're in D.C., declined to comment on the alleged threats to Schumer's offices, saying the department “cannot discuss member security.”
