The Democrat Party of 2025 Is Demoralized, Depressed and, Now, DeFUNDed

There's a pretty telling meme making its way around social media showing a sad little group of Democrat Senators gathered last week in front of FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., attempting to protest Kash Patel's inevitable approval to head the federal law enforcement agency. It was all performative, of course, as the approval was (mostly) a sure thing, but the startling thing about the image is the lack of tatted-up, pink-haired lunatics with nose rings ranting in the background and calling for abortion on demand.

That's the Democrat Party we're used to seeing in the age of Trump, but here's what we have in 2025:

It would be sad if not for the fact that Democrats well and truly earned their position as political losers.

And it looks like the Democrat Party's biggest donors are tiring of filling the coffers of a party with a gaping leadership void and nary a clue about how to respond to Donald Trump and his Golden Age agenda. These donors have to be wondering what funding BLM riots, anti-semitic mobs on college campuses and Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket has gotten them because it's looking a whole lot like it got them absolutely nothing. Bupkis. Certainly not the White House, the House of Representatives nor the U.S. Senate.

The party certainly did not enter 2025 in a strong position, both electorally and financially. Kamala Harris was a weak candidate who excelled at two things: her infamous "word salads" and spending donor money hand over fist. Harris's campaign raised (much of it handed to her by the failed Joe Biden reelection effort)—and spent!—a staggering $1.5 billion over the course of her 107-day campaign, eventually landing the Democrat National Committee (DNC) in millions of dollars of debt.

Looks Like Kamala Thought She Was Oprah Winfrey and Just Spent the Democrat Party Into Political Oblivion

After Spending Like Drunken Sailors, the Harris Campaign Is STILL Begging Supporters for Cash

Of course, Kamala's disastrous presidential run was at the tail-end of years of leftist donors like George Soros and Oprah Winfrey throwing bad money after bad money at unhinged "resistance" protest movements that were successful in only one thing: utterly alienating the average American voter. Sounds like a terrible return on investment, but Dem donors don't seem to be the most politically astute group amongst us.

As it turns out, these donors do actually have a limit to the financial pain they're willing to endure for the Democrat Party, and the limit has been reached.

“I’ll be blunt here: The Democratic Party is f‑‑‑ing terrible. Plain and simple,” said one major Democratic donor. “In fact, it doesn’t get much worse.”

A second donor was equally as pointed. “They want us to spend money and for what? For no message, no organization, no forward thinking,” the donor said. “The thing that’s clear to a lot of us is that the party never really learned its lesson in 2016. They worked off the same playbook and the same ineffective strategies and to what end?”

The result of this donor discontent is the very weak resistance efforts we've seen since Trump (re)took office on January 20. This is the point you'd expect to see the usual suspects descend upon DC in their pink hats and chanting their tired slogans, but the resistance so far has been, well, futile.

Even DOGE's gleeful slashing of the Federal Government hasn't managed to stir up enough outrage to get more than a few hundred weirdo malcontents to gather at any one time to protest Trump. Public sector unions are likely to amp up their efforts at some point, but so far, they have been as tepid and weak as the tea my Irish grandfather used to make me.

It's this simple: the money dried up and so did the resistance. And it's proof positive that the theatre kids who ran the show for the past few years were in it for the dough and are more than happy to let the American public deal with the aftereffects of the left's grotesque and destructive protests.

Where the Democrat Party goes from here is literally anybody's guess.
